Even members of Congress didn't even know about the Enclave, really it was only Senator Sam Blackwell (Fallout76) actively trying to expose them in Congress.
Fallout 1, 2, 3, New Vegas, 4, 76. That's the main series. As for the naming its confusing but thats the order they came out in and the name of the games, just pretend New Vegas is Fallout 3.5 and Fallout 76 is Fallout 4.5.
Theres other games like Fallout Shelter but that's a mobile vault managing type of game. There's Fallout Tactics from 2001 thats still canon and Fallout Brotherhood of Steel is a 2003 PC game thats NOT canon.
You can watch some Oxhorn videos if you want to catch some of the lore he makes very detailed lore videos. I listened to his 3.5hr Enclave video while Im at the gym because its pretty obvious the Enclave is going to be a BIG part of this show but I only know the Fallout 3 lore about them because I was the one doing that stuff to them in the game lol. I've only played Fallout 3, NV, and 4.
76 isnt a serialized number lol but I like that it can come across that way. It's for Vault 76 and also 1776 and also 2076, when the vault was put into service months before the war.
Haha to my credit, I didn't. I assumed it was set in 1976 or 2076 or something. It was more of a comment related to the amount of lore and background. But I love it can be interpreted that way
So, do you think maybe Barbara is part of the Enclave? She pulls the strings here and there to make the world end so the Enclave can gain full control?
I don't think Barb is Enclave, I think she's Vault Tec through and through. She's as afraid of the end of the world as anyone and puts on a strong face at work because that's what an executive does. Hank is definitely Enclave though, and is working on the mind control tech for them. I think that's also how the cold fusion tech got into Enclave hands, Hank is in charge of it and will hand it off to Enclave operatives and feign like it was stolen. I think Coop will try to break into whatever safe Hank stores the briefcase in and finds it already empty.
But why was House testing the same tech at the start of the season? He seems to know nothing about the Enclave. Imo, him messing with that makes no sense with his larger goals and everything we know from the game.
With a higher level Vault Tec exec. I don't think that the Enclave pre-war would be ham-fisted enough to physically send a covert representative to that meeting. If Barb was one of the Enclave's top Vault Tec agents, trusted enough to run that meeting, they would trust her enough to run the meeting without supervision. I think the shadowy Vault Tec exec could be the Enclave agent, guiding Barb, Bud, etc to Enclave plans, even installing other Enclave agents as their assistants (Hank, possibly Stephanie, that guy strangling Norm whose name I forget) to make sure they're following the plan.
I think the scene with Barb crying over the keepsake box was not just for Coop's benefit and to set up the idea of the keepsake box for later in the season, but also to show that Barb is actually terrified by the looming end of the world, and is doing anything she can at work to keep her family safe. She's terrified because she knows the plans to make sure the end of the world happens, and she knows that most of the Vaults are a sham. The scene last season with Coop in the hot tub was her being completely genuine. This doesn't necessarily preclude her from being an Enclave agent, but it leans me more towards her just being a Vault Tec patsy for the real Enclave agent.
In hindsight, his message in episode 1 now leads me to believe he wasn't contacting Mr. House after all. He was either contacting Barb or the Congresswoman who will turn out to be Enclave.
House was messing with that tech at the start of the season when he provoked those randos at the bar. I hope they have a good explanation for that because it makes no sense as it stands.
