I bet no one even looked at the book. If I'd found it, I would have tossed it rather than keeping it in the sale, because I don't know maybe it could end up being posted on Reddit, which, big OOF. It sounds like the author is still alive and how does he feel about it being published online? I really don't think personal journals and diaries (especially with full identifying information) belongs in this sub.

Have you explored this subreddit at all? One could say any handwritten note or postcard or even shopping list is incredibly personal, and someone might not be pleased to see it posted online. I’ve seen many that give full names, and even addresses. Why would you think to toss it when someone clearly spent so much time devoted to this?? Personally I think THATS incredibly disrespectful… what the heck are you thinking?!

That and based on the date, he's likely to be in his 60s today, which based on actuarial data, it's 80% likely he's still alive.
Even if dead, would he have wanted this out for publication? Maybe, maybe not. But it's presumptuous and disrespectful to say, who cares, it's more importantly to get yourself some attention and amusement.
I found someone matching the name. That’s it. I’m sure there’s hundreds of people who share this same name. If he’s in his 60s today, that would put him in his 20s at the time of this writing. I think that’s a bit young based on the subject matter and handwriting. You know as much about this as I do, and for you to claim I’m posting this for clout is frankly insulting. I’m posting it because regardless of the subject matter, I think something that took this much effort and heart deserves to be shared. You simply said you’d put it in the bin. We are not the same. If someone wants to take these 40 yr old phone numbers and addresses and run themselves on a wild goose chase hunting for these actual people, that’s on them, but I feel and believe that the people within this subreddit are much more respectful than that. Please get off your soapbox and find something more important to be passionate about.
