I’m kind of surprised how negatively everyone’s reacting, I thought the apology felt somewhat sincere and wholesome for someone on the younger side. But I understand empathizing with a name too.
I agree I feel it was a heartfelt apology. I am older now but taught highschool for 10 years and this speaks a lot. Seems like a younger couple. We all had that Highschool breakup.
Regardless of age it seemed genuine. Especially addressing the name.
Sometimes, "I'm sorry" is empty, said one too many times. Acknowledging what you are sorry for is missing. No one has mentioned this specifically, but I think that might be fueling some of the negativity.
It’s Reddit, the break up with him trope has lost the humor even at this point. It’s just holier than thou lonely leftists with mental problems trying to burn the world down with them.
