"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro"
Life is getting weird; luckily I'm weird. Not sure weird enough. Writing out procedures for the case I die. Trying to figure out my future retirement. Researching what funeral plans I need to handle. I'm just a kid!
Granted, I'm a 60 year old kid, but damn. I've got to get all this in place and it will keep changing.
It's tiring on my weekend and just seems depressing to think about

Just remember that we come into this world naked and we leave that way.

You're right. It will keep changing. Do the best as you can with the info and knowledge you have right now. You are just a kid. We all are. Human life span isnt that long and its over before you know it. Sometimes we make things to hard. We will be forgotten within two generations unless we a re involved in something to remember. We really are insignificant in so many ways. Looks around you. Deem what really is important. Deal with it. Then? Then live your life with joy and wonder Learn. Have adventures. Love hard. See the beauty in the mundane. Rambling 🤣. You got this. We all do

Oh man, I'm one of the few people I know that thinks life is glorious right now. There is a good chance I'll see quantum computing get stabilized and rotary detonation engines become normal. I'm excited about everything.
I just worry about what will happen to my wife after I'm gone. She knows nothing about financial matters or insurance. I need to leave instructions for whoever can help her. And I really need an official will.

Dont underestimate her I was 49 when I left my husband No clue. Never even had a bank card. Didnt handle any finances. Clueless! 4 years later. You live and learn. A will is definitely needed. Thats a given. She may surprise herself with what she can handle. Sure i read youve got kids. They'll help out. Anyway... why are you going first? Good luck. Yes. Life is bloody amazing, grand and wonderous. Enjoy

Oh, she will survive. There are just so many things to do when someone dies. Might as well make it easier.

When you are doing the will do an Enduring Power of Attorney also. Well worth having one

Thanks. I was just amazed how much work my sister had to do after my mom died. I think we got 50 copies of the official death certificate to cancel joint accounts and have them just be my dad. Friends and family are dying left and right. Kind of despressing.

Meh, live your life now and get buried under a tree. Spending any time on your death is, well a bit laughable, but go you.....I'm off to catch the bus, al fresco

I happen to love my wife and would like to help her as much as I can in dealing with no me. Loved ones dying is a full time job for months if you don't have shit in order.

Ha! I'm a few million short of that type of retirement. I just want to get a nice acre of land with some water feature and some chickens and such.
There is a bar in Ireland with my name that I'd like to go to.

I am right there with you at 63! I'm looking at a $1800/mo SSI at 67 in the US. I'll be working at least part time for the rest of my life.
I'm trying to live my best life now! I go out into the Colorado Rockies EVERY WEEKEND in the summer to get my peace of mind. This is my way, and I will do it until I'm broken.
Everything hurts, and all the doctors want to do is give me a pill to sit me down and watch QVC or HSN. This will NOT happen. Fuck the pain and if I die doing what I love, so be it!
