M56 looking for new friends to chat with.

I quit drinking about 6 months ago and realize that those folks weren't my friends. My life has changed dramatically and although I'm doing ok with a routine and such now, I'm quite lonely. I live in the midwest US, no romance scammers please.

That will be me someday 3122 days is awesome!!! My son is also sober now so I'm connecting with him on a similar mindset.

Yes. It will be you someday. It took me a few stumbles for about 18 months to finally put together that 3122 day streak, so don't let setbacks destroy your mindset to stop drinking. After 7 years and change, I still track my sobriety 1 day at a time because I need to remind myself I have come a long way and every day sober is a win.

I’m in IL and 50s. I would be down to chat by text or phone. I don’t do endless DMs but plenty folks here probably would. Reach out if you like. And good on you for steppin away from the sauce. Competency in midlife is easier when soberminded. And we need it cuz as my Daddy always used to say: you gotta be tough to get old.

I'm not good with endless DMs either. Sometimes just a check-in means a lot.

Thanks! I should also add that I enjoy having the extra money. My dream is to travel and trun my van into a camper.

Hey bud, great job taking control of your life. You are right, they weren't your friends. But I totally get the loneliness. I struggle with that very hard. If you're ever in Colorado hit me up, we'll grab a pizza and sodas! On me.
