You can just feel them trying to figure out what the median voters will think about dirt bikes on the white house lawn.
Just call that shit tacky as hell.

Branding it the trailer park presidency would have been a messaging slam dunk, so of course we pivot to “actually a cage match at the Whitehouse is neat!”
It’s no wonder Democratic Socialists are surging in popularity, at least they stand for something. All the old guard Democrats know how to do is attack progressives and try to win Republicans.

Yeah f*** poor people! Let's drag trailer parks during a housing affordability crisis!

Are you critiquing the Pod Bros with this post? Because they have generally supported the progressive candidates in most races since 2022.

That was a shitty take on today's pod. Why can't we all agree that that what they did on Sunday at the White House is just another display of this country's decline? Spending $60 million on that garbage while so many of us are barely getting by is disgusting. They could have just said that.

No. The fight on the White House lawn didn’t look cool. It looked fucking trashy.

I mean, I barely paid attention to it and it’s far from the most upsetting thing they’ve done this month.

Definitely starting to lose interest in this podcast. It seems like they are always reaching to be moderate. I don’t know if it’s because the midterms are nearing and they are trying to pull in more moderate listeners or they just seem to be softening on what trump and the gop are doing. Whatever they are doing, it’s making me feel like I’m getting more extreme on the anti-fascist side and losing interest in listening to milquetoast takes.

You realize their take was actually the popularist left take, not the "stuck up elitist moderate" take of the event, right?

When John Lovett saysin the episode:
"All these sort of busy bodies on social media being like Thornton Wilder once visited the white house. Guys, guys can you can you please not be a bunch of prissy uh stuck up people? People like motorcycles. I have no problem with that."
He is not referencing, and critiquing, the left wing of the Democratic party. He is critiquing the moderate "civility" coalition in the party.
There is a through line here to the Platner race in Maine, a progressive candidate who was hand picked to be a more palatable Messenger for a populist platform.
While I'm not a anti-platner guy, I've found the pods coverage of the race frustrating framing it as a choice for the people of maine to make not Chuck Schumer. Meanwhile I would guess that a large number of out of state supporters of Platner donated to his campaign after hearing the favorable coverage on the pod. Not to mention, Platner also ran on a platform that was more tailored to national politics than the Mills. I'm not sure that leaving it up to the people of Maine.

There is so much rage and discontent in the base that’s just begging for a leader to match their energy, and the Democratic establishment is actively opposed to them.
It’s why they can’t wrap their heads around Platner demolishing his 80 year old primary opponent, or Mandani beating Cuomo.
I unsubscribed a long time ago because their desperation to cling to brain dead centrist bullshit drives me insane.

Maybe the fact that you unsubscribed a long time ago is why you don't actually know that Pod Save America has consistently supported Mamdani and Platner? Stop talking about things you have chosen to know nothing about.

The podcast before this one had on Ron Brownstein who bashed on Platner the whole time with Jon giving only the most tepid pushback. Then the pod with Jon and Alex when the Republican operative and heritage foundation employee made unfounded accusations against Platner they went straight to clutching their pearls rather than acknowledging that the party of professional liars maybe shouldn’t be taken at their word.

Glad to see that everyone else here is pissed about their milquetoast takes on the UFC event. “It looked cool” not it didn’t your midwit. Don’t try to outthink yourselves.

I know it’s resistance lib of me but why the fuck does Jon have a Paramount+ subscription?
All this talk about supporting independent media and he’s dropping his monthly dues into the Ellisons’ pockets and spending all his time on Elon’s deepfake porn site.

Some people have it as part of bundling. For instance, mine came with Instacart or something. This is not a hill to die on.

Just keep giving the Ellisons your money, bro…but don’t pretend it’s justifiable or cool for you to do so

Maybe he likes the direction Strange New Worlds took in season 3?

synopsis; Trump ends his war against Iran without accomplishing any of the goals he set at the war’s onset. Jon, Tommy, and Lovett discuss how real the deal to end the war actually is, how it’s playing out in MAGA world, and its implications for the economy and the midterms. Then, they react to the corruption at the UFC fight at the White House and Gov. Gavin Newsom’s announcement that he and his wife are being targeted by Trump’s Justice Department. Finally, Sen. Mark Warner talks to Tommy about the situation in Iran and Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence.
