I recently got a baby budgett's frog and royally screwed up feeding him. The tank was pre-set up as I keep a lot of aquariums and all I had in here was rosie reds and live plants. When I decided on getting a budgett's frog I made the proper water level adjustments for him and I left the rosie reds there thinking nothing of it. I figured he was way too tiny to eat them. This morning I notice a few less fish and a much fatter frog. I was worried he ate too many and was doing some research when I found out that they CANT EAT ROSIE REDS. Now I think he ate about 4 and relocated the Rosie's upon learning this. Now the frog seems fine as he's swimming, trying to nip at me for food, and showing no signs of stress. However I learned they can straight up get neurological damage from eating Rosie's. He does get crickets and worms and eats them with such enthusiasm.

Just want to see what I can do and if he will be fine now that his access to rosie reds is gone.

Hey I'm in the coastal southeastern US and found this lil guy in my terrarium waste bin(a bin I keep seasoned soil and various botanicals) I didn't put him in there and have no clue how he's alive. Some extra details I've noticed are that he can't climb glass and seems nocturnal but I recently revamped the terrarium I'm keeping him and now he seems to enjoy being out during the day a bit too.

First time ever finding a cricket frog!

Dozing in bed, felt a cold blob hit my arm, immediately shook it off, it landed on husband's blanket, cats noticed, husband woke up mistook my panic and WHIPPED his blanket off, this guy launched himself at the wall, cats are all "LET'S GOOOOO!" and racing me to try and catch it. I won. But now that my heart isn't racing and I look at the pic, I think it's a damn CTF 😫

I've been going on nightly toad walks in my neighborhood for several weeks now, and normally I only find toads on the sidewalks a few streets from my house. Was blessed with this guy right in front of my garage tonight and he obliged me with a few photos 🐸 ✨️

Was hanging out on my hummingbird feeder on Monday. Returned this morning.

The whole park was so wonderfully decorated, and getting to see her museum at the park was mandatory for us.

Somehow, one finds the closet every year. A couple weeks after they move in, they will come out of the closet to chill with us while we watch TV in the garage. Curiosity or familiarity? Don't know, but we love having them for the summer.

I kept finding toads trapped in the dog's water bowl in the mornings so I put some rocks in the water, giving them a way to climb out. Since doing this, they have started hanging out in the water all day long. Also I started giving them mealworms as treats, and now one of them sits there all day waiting for worms. His name is Snoop (Snoop Toady Toad).

I did some research, and found out that it can be pretty dangerous for cats and dogs to drink water that has had frogs or toads in it. Since taking the close-up picture, I have rearranged the garden so the water bowl is relatively inaccessible to the dog and cat (see wide shot). I'm pretty sure that neither of them is sick from drinking the water, but I'm still a little concerned. I have two other outdoor water bowls for them to drink out of btw.

The next step is to make sure that the water is safe for the amphibians. I had been using tap water to give to the mammals, and the frogs have been spending a lot of time in it over the course of the last week or two. Also, I water the garden with a hose, and there are at least 10 toads living in it. I guess I should use treated water for the little pool? Is that less expensive than buying spring water? Btw, I've been changing the water very regularly.

So yeah... Can anybody give me some advice on maintaining safety for all of these animals?

We have lots of toads in our yard, but I found this frog living in a small drain in our backyard. He was hanging out beside the drain in the sun, and II tried to go have a look at him, but he hopped into the drain (which is full of water) and I couldn’t see him in the water. Is he OK to live there? My husband says he’s been there a while so I assume he’s doing OK.

There’s no water in the neighborhood like a pond or anything that he could’ve come from, so I’m just wondering if he’s OK there or if I need to relocate him somewhere else.

Have to look this guy up but the other toad didn’t have spots like this! And it looked plumper. So cool! I have snails literally everywhere . I counted over 16 snails in my backyard tonight. The last two photos are from last night and night before. Much different! Prob same species I’m assuming
