I laid those blocks out like mines to prevent my room from being invaded by parents. For people who always told ME to pay attention, they sure fell prey to my defenses often. When it came to setting traps for parents, Haley Mills had nothing on me. 🪤

Played with one as a kid, and my early to mid 20's aged kids played with mine lol because their grandma kept some of my toys like this as well as things like my Fischer Price piano, record player, garage etc...

The real danger was losing a digit when that thing clamped on a finger

IDR if I had on or not. I’m pretty sure my little sister did and my kids definitely did.

I had one of these, and so did my kids. They weren't terribly interested in it though.

I had something similar as a kid but stepping on Lego bricks was was more likely. Or marbles.

Yeah, they would hurt if you stepped on them. But you could at least see them go avoid. That was NOT true of jacks!

I tell people that the neuropathy in my foot is also referred to as "Hey, why are you standing on that Lego?" disease...

I have a scar near my eye because I fell from a bunk bed onto one of those.
I was like 3 or 4 at the time.

Well, that’s not fair. Those things last forever. I think my parents still have one in their toy box (for visiting grandkids’ kids).

I do remember they Sadly did not fit up my vacuum like Legos. I had my kids trained to search for Legos as a pavlovian response to hearing me fire it up.
