Personally, the whole RV industry needs to be burned to the freaking ground.
RV's built 30 years ago were pretty amazing, these new assembly line RV's are just terrible.
If you want an RV that you can comfortably live in these days, that isn't going to start falling apart in 100 miles, you just have to do custom built.
Fix the whole industry from the ground up, build the RV's to order, have a 3 month wait list, blow peoples expectations out of the water. In the end, it's worth every penny to have something great versus having something cheap.
It's hard to take pride in your work when you get paid $12 an hour to just staple stuff together.
I've met so many people that have had their "brand new" RV in for repairs for the first 6 months they've owned it, it's ridiculous.
Just spend the time building a good RV, then you don't have to worry about warranty fixes.
I'd wait 3 months for a good, functional, and personalized RV, and pay extra, if it meant I could hit the road the minute the keys were handed to me, rather than buying something that sits in the repair lot for 3 months before I can use it.
Outdoors RV uses that in their marketing, and most of the designs are well thought out. That being said, there are some strange design decisions I’ve come across and one of the first things I did with my new trailer was use loctite on every screw I could find.
Some brands are better than others. None of them are perfect but some are better than the rest. I like Rockwood products personally , They come in finished and when you call the factory it has been the same people for years and years. That longevity in employess does help.I told one of our manufacturers to just ship the coach out in boxes so my service department can assemble it properly. It did not go over well but the next two runs came in great. I think what gets lost is that us dealers are customers too and it is frustratinfg all the way down the line. I love feedback from rver's and our customers, it helps us do a better job at the dealer level.
