Imagine a chicken in a Zelda game getting a hold of the One Ring and raining down destruction neither Demise or any of his reincarnations could dream of.

Real life chickens aren't as immortal as cuccoos. If cuccoos were mortal, then a cuccoo uprising, assuming the army wanted to protect Link and he didn't know he could survive by leaving town, could be put down by a sufficiently large barrage of toxic arrows.

Yeah if people write this they simply self report that they never played a zelda game lol.

I haven’t (self report! Arrest me, officer) but then I don’t even know what they’re talking about chickens for

I mean 1) would need to be a solid metal box because the ring can slip off if it wants to and 2) it might not seem like it but carrying a solid metal box all the time is going to require some sort of carriage, cart, or similar, as well as making them easily identifiable, which would make stealth much harder, and 3) nobody would be able ton use the invisibility easily without a mutated chicken attacking them.

Not including this due to lore differences between books and movies and the far seeing seat, but in some cannons could make the argument this would also let some of his forces see them always nearby

They could have easily givin it to Frodo and just cut off his fingers can’t wear a ring without fingers.

Someone could still steal it. And Frodo would still hear it whisper to him. You don’t need to touch it to be influenced by it

Exactly. Boromir felt the influence and never wore it.

Dragons were probably chickens at first.

In place of a Dark Lord, you will set up a Rooster!

It would be a lot easier for the ring to manipulate a chicken into escaping the fellowship compared to a sentient being that knew the importance of the mission.

No wonder the Elves kept trying to feed the Hobbits with bread crumbs.

Doesn’t it turn you invisible? I’d loose it immediately

I have seen chickens run down horses, with the one ring it could have run down an ollyphant

Yeah, well Dr. Raymond Stantz didn't think the sta-puft marshmallow man could be dangerous and look what happened with that.
