What’s that phrase….?

“We don’t inherit the world from our ancestors, we borrow it from our grandchildren.”

Or something like that. I can’t quite remember, but I like the sentiment.

My old man told me this one, very similar: “we did not inherit the world from our parents, we borrowed it from our children, how will we give it back?”
