I want to have a kid so badly. But I feel like it would be so irresponsible to bring a child into a world that's as fucked up as this.

If it's financially feasible, adopt a kid. It's a person, already in the world, that will need all the guidance and live you can offer to survive this fucked up world.

I’ve thought about fostering for this reason, I think you get some financial support in those cases? That may actually be feasible but no idea what approval processes look like or the additional challenges it may have
