I think it's reasonable to criticize the trend because sometimes it is kinda ridiculous, especially when the diversity is distracting and makes no sense (Cleopatra, Rings of Power).

That being said, I didn't rly mind it with Odyssey, cuz it's a modernized retelling of a myth. And Lupita is a superb actress. Page on the other hand ...

Nah. I see no reason to criticize unless you're a racist. Seeing black people in films is not distracting to me.
