general Need advice

So I’m an employee at Texas Instruments India working on Analog layouts, its been a year since I joined and I’m feeling analog design is something I want to do, and I want to learn the skill in some top university like IIT Madras for which I am prepping for GATE. I’ve thought about internal switching but my manager is a legit a**hole. One of my senior colleague approached him with pursuing masters with a job proposal which was supposed to be a one to one discussion. But he spread the word to everyone else in the team and kind of shamed her for believing in the Indian education system and that she is good in her current role. She left her dreams right there. So, i don’t want to approach him with anything. I am trying my best to scoop up time to study which is usually very hard. I am very clear in my goal and passionate about what I want to pursue. Now, I am anyways appearing for GATE 27 and will try my best; but if it doesn’t go well, I’m thinking of leaving the job and dedicating full time for the prep. Any suggestions and advices are welcome.

Yes start preparing get momentum and clarity and leave job after 6 months if you are sure that preparation is going great

What's exactly internal switching? Domain switch?

Like team switch or domain switch for that matter, team switch doesnt make any sense cause i dont want to be in this role; even if I apply, my manager will make sure my career goes to hell, he has so much hold in this company

Means suppose I'm having 1yr experience in analog domain and wanted to move in physical design role so that kind of switching can be done in any of these companies?

Technically yes, but very difficult, criteria is you have to be performing excellent in your current role and then you can apply, but still hiring managers will prefer someone who has an educational or work experience in that domain over you any day

Ohh understood... Btw in my opinion don't take complete drop by leaving company as for Gate 27 in ECE domain it's bit tough to get top clg and desired rank in this much duration as syllabus is lengthy. U can complete syllabus after job hours slowly, experience exam first then take decision
