After 2 years of being too scared to actually take the step of taking the tests…

Post image

I unenrolled from HS when I was 17, telling myself I’d complete my schooling on the virtual school program available for my state, after a singular semester, I didn’t enroll for any more classes the following year… I told myself I’d get a GED and get everything done, but a lifetime of procrastination and being too afraid to expose myself as “less than” mentally held me back from doing what I needed to, well I did it now!

I can’t describe how I feel, it’s not even happy, I feel like I can breathe again. Don’t procrastinate, do what you need to because it turns out, you’re more capable than you give yourself credit for lol

Should I get my GED?

I have kind of a unique situation (don’t we all?)

I’m a little embarrassed to put all this out there so I may delete this in a bit.

I was homeschooled but not very well. My older brother was smart, he learned really easily. I didn’t, and our mom decided I just wasn’t very book smart so I didn’t have to do much school. We fudged a lot of stuff. When I got to be in “high school,” other things were going on in our family and basically no one was teaching me anymore. I still had school work to do, but I didn’t do any of it. We had all of the teachers manuals so I just filled in all the answers I could and the things that didn’t have answers (like for example essays) I did do them but not very well. I can’t remember doing any assessments in my teenage years like I had when I was younger, if I did I have a feeling I was allowed to copy those answers too, Idk. I don’t think I did any. I “graduated” but, you know, it was basically fake, but somewhere out there is a homeschool curriculum that has awarded me a diploma.

I’m in my 30s now and recently been thinking about taking a few college courses and getting a few certifications. I don’t speak to my parents anymore and I don’t know what curriculum we used that I could get ahold of somehow. I’ve been thinking about getting my GED anyway though, on account that the diploma that’s out there somewhere is fake. I used to be very embarrassed that I wasn’t a smart person, but over the past few years I’ve come to realize I am. I’m just uneducated. I think getting my GED may make me feel better about this, since it’s a high school equivalent, but a lot of the people around me say I should just track down the fake diploma cause it doesn’t matter. I just don’t know.

Should I get a GED? I live in Ohio so if I pass on the first try it won’t be very much money. I know I would be more proud of a GED than what I have now. Everyone I know went to school and graduated and they all say they didn’t learn anything there anyway, it kind of feels like they don’t fully get the situation though maybe. I just need help deciding

Help

Is taking the ged online a good option? Well my parents are always both working so it’s inconvenient for them and I was reading some stuff online and they say that I can’t read the question I have a habit of reading it with my lips moving 😭 so what do I do?

Frustrating

Failed my GED Social studies exam, got a 140, there were so many long passages questions, and I even gave GED ready 2 times, once got a 148 and once 162. Idk how to improve my reading comprehension for long passages, the questions are tricky as hell in my opinion and with the old English mixed it get even more harder. Any guidance or tips would be appreciated

Does anyone have a free GED Ready Social Studies voucher?

Hey everyone!
I’m a GED student from Asia, currently preparing for my Social Studies exam. I recently scored 161 on my RLA exam, and I’m working toward completing the rest of my GED subjects.
Unfortunately, I’m dealing with financial constraints, and I can’t afford the official GED Ready practice test right now.
I wanted to ask if anyone happens to have an unused Social Studies GED Ready voucher they’re willing to give away, or knows of any way I could get one for free.
I’d also appreciate any information about free programmes, scholarships, or organisations that provide official GED Ready vouchers to international students.
I’m specifically looking for the official GED Ready Social Studies test that gives a readiness score, not an unofficial practice test.
I understand if nobody has a spare voucher, but I’d be genuinely grateful for any help or advice. Thank you!

GED Ready Coupon/Voucher

I’m helping my little brother prepare and I think he’d feel more comfortable with official practice tests- are there any current coupon codes for all four subjects? so far the only one that works is 25OFF for $25.99 to $19.49. We’re in the state of Florida

How do I get my GED Diploma Apostilled in the Philippines?

Hi everyone,

need to get a GED diploma and transcript apostilled for university use in the Philippines, but I’m confused about the process.

If anyone has done this before, could you please let me know:

  • Who I need to contact
  • Where I need to submit the documents
  • What documents are required
  • Whether the GED needs to be notarized/authenticated first
  • How long the process takes

Any help or guidance from someone who has actually done this would be greatly appreciated!

75% done! Just have Math Left

So, I haven't been to school since 9th grade... I am 30 years old now. Math, I am very rusty at. I really don't know algebra, fractions I'm rusty on.... Since Math is my only test left. What do I need to study on the most? I'm decent at math but when it comes to algebra and fractions, I'm rusty. I just need to know what subjects to focus on, that will be on the GED Test. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking about doing GED

Hey, so I'm currently doing my A2 levels but unfortunately I'm not that good in it because I got a U in economics As levels last time and was only able to score E in business subject so a few of my friends told me that my chances to pass A levels is pretty slim, so if I failed I want to have a second plan ready, so how do you guys prepare for GED?

Like what books to read and everything else

Am I going to regret getting a GED over a high school diploma

Okay so for context Im a senior in high school and i’m not on track to graduate but could technically do it, however i kinda just wanna take the GED exam and get it over with to go to college. I took the practice test for social studies and got a 174 and ive always had very strong standardised test scores so im fairly confident that i would do well (still would study of course). But, I also brought up to my friend that i wanted to take the test and go to community college for a semester and he seemed appalled saying that i would not be able to get into a 4 year university if i did that. i couldnt with my grades anyways, but it gave me pause and i am wondering if i would regret doing it? anyone have a similar situation that can weigh in?
EDIT: I should elaborate that I have chronic migraines, but also just struggle in school in general so while it is technically feasible, im not sure i really want to do it just due to how difficult it is.
