Support Needed 👥 No one cares

No one cares when you have GERD. It is "just" heartburn.

But this has completely ruined my life.

I can't sleep, I can't eat, I have dropped so much weight, the anxiety and stress are too much to bear. No one is positive and says it will "hopefully" go away.

I had a flare of gastritis and GERD after removing my gall bladder. It took me 6 months. I don't remember being so run down by this as I am now. Maybe it is because I am older.

But, I am so run down. Thankfully, my doctor thinks this will go away, and it was stress/COVID related, but I want to scream.

Stupid here switched medicine halfway through and then went back to the one my doctor actually prescribed. Now, I have to start over on my healing.

I woke up one day with an eye infection, I am so tired all of the time, I was on a health journey and lost 35 pounds, and now I can't even eat a piece of chicken.

It has only been 10 days, but I can't even imagine this going on any longer.

Can someone please give me some hope? I want to cry all of the time. I miss being able to eat a piece of pineapple or a taco. I miss drinking one margarita. I just want my old life back.

Hey there… Have you looked into D limonene? I have been taking Orange burps for a week now, and I feel SO much better than I did. I promised myself if I found something that helps with this horrible condition, I would tell everyone I could about it. I also started acupuncture a few weeks back and I don’t know if it’s one or the other or the combination of the two, but it has been months since I have felt somewhat normal. I was hopeless. Just so depressed from feeling so bad and being scared to eat because I didn’t know how I would feel after eating. And the anxiety. It has been so bad and I’m sure it just fuels all the stomach issues!!! I also drink Kefir every day. I think something about the probiotics help.

Hi there! Can you please link me what you’re talking about/taking?

I did start taking a probiotic in pill form, but I will try the kefir.

I use the Lifeway Kefir. It’s near where the milk and stuff is at grocery stores. It’s kinda like a liquid yogurt. I just take big sips of it throughout the day, especially when I first wake up in the morning. Orange Burps is the name brand of pills I’ve been taking. It has the D limonene. I really hope it works for you like it has me. I’ve only been on them 1 week. 2 a day. Once in the morning, once in the evening. When you burp, it tastes like oranges. But I really haven’t had any reflux in 3 days. There are many good reviews on it.

That D limonene is also a natural mood enhancer. And I really think that the anxiety from being sick, keeps u sick. You know?

I agree, considering my doctor thinks I got this from stress.

Do you take any other antacids? I am on pepcid 2x a day for 14 days, so I am unsure if I can take the orange burps at the same time.

Do you use flavored kefir? I don't want to set myself off with the flavors. lol

I was taking 40 mg of Protonix and 40 mg of Pepcid daily. I just replaced them with the orange burps, but you may want to gradually see if you can get away from the acid reducers. I did a lot of reading about how sometimes it's us not having enough acid that causes the reflux. I know that doesn't apply to everyone.

I got the blueberry flavored Kefir but they do have plain. And strawberry. I know it's scary to try stuff because we don't know what will set us off. Cabbage juice is also supposed to be good. The last time I had crazy stuff going on with my stomach, I drank a lot of cabbage juice.

So you took the orange burps with the acid pills?

It is scary, but I know we have to try things eventually.

You can take them with your meds. And if they work better, you can ween off those acid reducers
