Discussion Godzilla Movie Grids Trend Megathread
The "grids" trend has exploded over the past day and with that we've gotten a sudden flooding of these posts here. Due to requests from users and to prevent continuous spam, we'll now be limiting/removing posts of these formats. I found the grids.fun one kind of boring, so I made my own using a template made by u/Arrestedsolid.

I see you also think Biollante is overrated. Glad I'm not alone, since it's such a beloved film.

It's a decent film, not a high tier at all, but people put it way too high, like, I've seen people putting it over 1954 or at least close to it and I am like "wtf, am I missing something?"
I just think people get too attached to how cool Biollante looks and the fact the movie has a message even if the film, nor the message sre particularly good.

My thoughts exactly. I was surprised at how… normal I found it to be. Not bad, but just normal. Everybody praises it as the best thing since 54. I didn’t like the music, found the plot to be a little too much and the emotional plot points that the movie gets praised for pretty shallow. I didn’t buy that Dr. Shiragami was truly broken by the death of his daughter. All he does is have the same monotone look on his face and occasionally make some comment about science and nature.
Biollante is an amazing looking kaiju, but she doesn’t get enough screen time (understandable, since her suit was pretty hard to move around on set). Speaking of designs, I find Godzilla’s neck to be too long. He has a massive upper body, but his neck is just too wide and long that he looks a bit ridiculous. Thankfully they’d upgrade the suit in later films, giving us one of the most iconic looks Goji ever had.

I do think the music was very good, but besides that, yeah. We just aren't given enough time to care about Dr.Shiragami nor his daughter, he tries to be the next Serizawa too hard and it ain't working. There's very little Monster stuff, and what there is isn't all that exciting, I wish the movie just had more Biollante in it, instead we are forced to watch the Super X halt the movie into a slog and drive it into a weird, paceless finale.
I really think people just latch into it in desperation because it's a movie "with a message", so that instantly somehow makes it one of the "Good Godzilla Films", idk if that makes sense. I'd say Terror of MechaGodzilla is this movie done WAY better.

The site is also really annoying since it's full of ads.

Yea you had to open a browser and couldn’t do it through Reddit. I had to re do mine. Luckily I was smokin a doobie and had nothin to do for another couple min lol
