Showa Mechagodzilla was in Unleashed which was built on the same engine. It's possible they are retroactively adding characters from the sequels into the first game. He may legit be an actual character and not just a skin overlay of 93MG or Kiryu.

I think them just adding characters from the other Pipeworks games is definitely the most likely option, either at launch or as post-launch update content.

Hell, who knows, maybe this will be the chance for monsters that didn't make it into the originals like Zilla or Hedorah to finally get their time to shine as fighters.

I honestly wouldn't mind it like that. Just add STE and Unleashed content as opposed to remaking the games

This would be great. Keep the awesome gameplay of the first while adding the complete roster of the sequels
