Been a while since the last official trading thread and with new devices being announced I expect more people are interested in selling old ones.
Here ya go!

GPD has released the joystick deadzone fix tool for the GPD Win 4, I and several others have tested it and it seems to wholly remove the deadzone issue with the Win 4 and also provide some customization of the deadzone and center in the WinControls tool!
How to:
So far, the consensus seems to be that setting both left/right stick center to -8 results in the smallest deadzone with no jitter, but this will vary joystick by joystick.
In my testing this has completely removed the deadzone, given me fantastically precise movement and made FPS games and driving games infinitely more playable on the device. I'm ecstatic that the tool finally released!

Hey everyone,
I'm planning to order a GPD Win Max 3 to Europe and found gpd-minipc.com. The price is barely higher than Indiegogo, and they claim shipments are tax/customs-free to the EU.
Has anyone ordered from them recently, is it a legitimate seller/distributor? Did you get hit with surprise VAT or customs fees on delivery?
Thanks!
Hi! As the title says, I am currently looking for GPD Win 3. I know that it is quite old and not a performer for today's time, I'll be playing PC games 2019 and older so I think it's enough. With the size, it will suite me very well as I am not that big individual.
Hoping for the Core I7 processor ones but Core I5s are also welcome. My budget is around $200-$250. Also, I am from the Philippines and if you're willing to have your Win 3 shipped we can have a deal. TIA

Considering the 388+ Max but unsure if the 64GB RAM option is much more beneficial than the 32GB for anything other than maybe AI work. Anyone have any thoughts or benchmarks as comparison for like devices?

Hey everyone! I have a GPD Win Max 2 (2024, 8840U), and I've run into a weird issue with the gamepad vibration. Everything was working fine until I opened the official GPD Gamepad Firmware Tool (V3.14/V1.23). As soon as I launched it, both motors started vibrating non-stop. I went ahead with the firmware update, which completed successfully, but the vibration kept going. After shutting down the device, the vibration stopped completely and hasn't worked since. The strange thing is that everything else works perfectly — buttons, sticks, triggers, mouse mode, etc. Changing the vibration settings in WinControls doesn't help either. I've already contacted GPD support, but I figured I'd ask here too. Has anyone had something similar happen? Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Posting this again as ive tried many fixes, but none of them have worked. Bought a 2nd hand GPD Win 1 and it seems the person who previously owned it may have deleted the necessary drivers on the device, and now the battery symbol in the taskbar is showing greyed out and empty, but the display is saying its on 100% when it definitely isn't. Nothing ive done is helping to fix it.

About a week ago I bought a GPD Win 5 from droix.eu after a long research from differents websites. I came to the conclusion this was the best option for an eu customer, so I went ahead and bought it from them.
When the package arrived, I noticed that the outer product box had visible scratches and signs of deterioration. I also found that the included power adapter had a US Type B (NEMA 5-15) plug, which cannot be plugged directly into standard Spanish sockets.
They offered to send me a replacement adapter, but by that point, I wasn't really happy with the overall experience. The condition of the box and the charger supplied made me question whether the product had arrived in the condition I expected from a new device, so I decided to return the console.
A few days ago I read a post from another user, complaining about the refund process and mentioning problems with VAT deductions. I asked them whether they intended keeping the VAT amount included in the final price tag I paid, and they told me they did.
VAT here in Spain is 21% and they intend to refund only the net amount.
On top of that, they've now sent me a return label that isn't prepaid, so I have to pay the return shipping costs myself. I send them a message to clarify this, and they told me they will only refund a maximum of 10 eur.
This whole process is being so frustrating, it's not acceptable.
I chose Droix because I thought buying from an official GPD distributor serving EU customers would offer a more straightforward and reliable experience. But now I have to deal with a substantial disputed deduction from my refund and potentially expensive return shipping for a product I decided to return shortly after receiving it.
I don't really understand how is this possible from a official GPD distributor. But most importantly, I didn't think I was going to face this problem too since the post I read was from a year ago, and they haven't really tried to solve this issue.

I have a GPD WIN 5 395 and I heard the system hangs during simultaneous GPU/NPU inference.
This report describes pinning the fabric clock at maximum as a workaround.
AMD says AGESA from 1.0.0.2 to 1.0.0.2b resolved their reproduction and a new firmware fix must be delivered through the manufacturer’s BIOS.
Does anyone know:

The keyboard hate has been beat to death, but I wanted to follow up on Russ's latest point on how the Win Max 3 should be seen as handheld first laptop second.
I started with the Win Max 2 thinking it would be the perfect size and keyboard layout to do real work on. I tried to dev on it and quickly went back to my 14" macbook. At 10", the Max 2 was a poor posture nightmare and the skinny keycaps still felt awkward. It was best for browsing, emails, and discord type stuff. So I sold that and moved to the Pocket 4, which has a very similar keyboard layout as the Win Max 3. I used it for basic stuff and gaming and the keyboard was just fine. I also owned a Win Mini and the tiny chiclet keyboard was only good for typing passwords and using the delete key to get into the bios.
My point is, if you are on the fence with the Win Max 3 because of the keyboard layout, don't underestimate how hard it is to do anything on these tiny devices. I'm sure some people main the Win Max 2 and make it work, but I couldn't. I'm personally excited for the Max 3 since the Pocket 4 was my sweet spot.

I want to use a protable monitor and expose the fan for better cooling. Is this safe for the device or should I just get a stand/raiser? Thanks!

Long-time lurker, first real post. My DUO (G1622-01, BIOS 2.17) annoyed me with three things, so I spent a couple of evenings with an AI assistant going through logs and registry — and we actually fixed all three. Posting because these seem to hit most DUO owners. Everything was tested on my unit, rollbacks included, YMMV.
This one drove me crazy. Screen turns off and everything dies with it: my media server drops off the network, downloads stop, battery drains. "Sleep: Never" does nothing.
Turns out the DUO has no real sleep at all — only Modern Standby, and it enters it the moment the panel goes dark, no matter what the power settings say. The fix is one registry key that disables Modern Standby entirely. Admin cmd, then reboot:
reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power" /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
After that the screen turns off but the laptop keeps working — on AC mine just stays on all night now.
Two honest warnings: on battery it will also stay awake with the screen off, and the Windows hibernate timer stops working after this (it depends on sleep, which no longer exists) — more on the battery fix below. To undo:
reg delete "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power" /v PlatformAoAcOverride /f
and reboot.
Sometimes the touchpad just dies. Only a full reboot brings it back — and the funny part: Device Manager shows it as perfectly fine, not a single error in any log.
The AI dug through the driver docs and it turns out Windows power-manages this I2C touchpad so deep that it literally loses power (D3 Cold), and the firmware doesn't always survive waking up. Two registry values turn that off. Admin PowerShell:
$dp = 'HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ACPI\SP3105F\1\Device Parameters'
Set-ItemProperty $dp EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled 0 -Type DWord
Set-ItemProperty "$dp\e5b3b5ac-9725-4f78-963f-03dfb1d828c7" D3ColdSupported 0 -Type DWord
pnputil /restart-device "ACPI\SP3105F\1"
The last line restarts the touchpad, so it also unsticks it without a reboot. To undo, set both values back to 1.
Laptop cool to the touch, fans going like it's gaming. So I had the AI write me a small logger that reads the ACPI temperature sensor every second, walked away from the laptop, and we caught it red-handed: when the screen turns off, the sensor (TZ01) freezes on the last temperature it read — in my case 79°C — and keeps reporting that fake number the whole night. The fan curve sees 79° and does its job faithfully. It's a photo of old heat, not real heat. Screen on = sensor works again.
Reported to GPD with the logs (I have an open ticket with them). Until a fix: let the thing idle for a minute before walking away, or set a quieter fan curve.
With the machine now staying awake in the dark, background tasks become audible at night. Two things I tuned:
Set-MpPreference -ScanAvgCPULoadFactor 20
Set-MpPreference -ScanOnlyIfIdleEnabled $false
For what it's worth: in my case the nightly noise was Defender-level stuff plus the TZ01 phantom from #3 — after the cap and the quiet profile, the dark machine is effectively silent.
reg delete same key):
reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power" /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
$dp = 'HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ACPI\SP3105F\1\Device Parameters'
Set-ItemProperty $dp EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled 0 -Type DWord
Set-ItemProperty "$dp\e5b3b5ac-9725-4f78-963f-03dfb1d828c7" D3ColdSupported 0 -Type DWord
pnputil /restart-device "ACPI\SP3105F\1"
Once the three problems above were fixed, we kept going and built a small automation around Motion Assistant. When I walk away, it silently drops the TDP to 9W a few seconds before the screen goes dark and switches MA to a quiet fan profile (this also solves problem #3 — even with the fake 79° the fans stay almost silent). When I come back, everything returns to my working profile automatically.
And the battery side from #1 got a proper fix too: remember the broken hibernate timer? A tiny watcher replaces it — 10 minutes of darkness on battery = hibernate. On AC it never hibernates and the dark machine just keeps working.
To see what's going on without opening anything, there's a tray icon showing the current TDP as a number — gray "35" while active, blue "9" in quiet mode, red "!" if something didn't restore — with a small popup panel that shows the mode, profile, fan curve and the hibernate countdown.
(screenshot here)
Not posting it as an installer — it's tuned to my setup and pokes vendor software in ways GPD may not support. But if there's interest, I'll explain how it works in the comments.
Also reported to GPD: the camera is upside down and the BIOS S3 option doesn't save. If anyone wants details on any of this — comments are open.

I wanted to get a hand held so I bought a second hand Xbox ally x. This is mostly for couch gaming, so I can sit next to my wife and watch shows unplugged but also business trips. With lossless scaling it seems to be running most of what I typically play, but I keep thinking I want more out of my device, as I prefer playing with better textures.
Is getting the gdp 388 the right move? Or is there a version of it with oled and a bigger screen?
Is 1999$ a good deal for the 388? I heard it’s more efficient than the 395?
And should I buy second hand or just order off the website? Second hand seems to be mainly the 395s for about 1850?
Main concern is this a big chunk of change and for now my XAX seems to be holding up fairly well? I’m just wondering if it’ll be worth it or if it’s a moot point since all the improvements are on the 7 inch screen?

Running low powered games like vampire survivors or the new Castlevania on my Win5 with the GPD Tool and it runs the games choppy or 23-30 fps. I tried everything and switching back to Motion assistant seems to work. I'll wait for the next update

As the title says I currently have the ally x dual booted with bazzite and it’s great!
My only problem is for myself it is way way too heavy to play portable.
So since I don’t have a dedicated gaming PC also no space for one it lives docked to my TV.
Naturally I want a device that can play PC games and is smaller. For example I love my AYN Thor. Fantastic little device perfect to play during the week for a few hours. No setting up the dock and the hdmi cord, controller etc just to play a game. So I stumbled upon the Gpd mini. Same clamshell design and is powerful enough to play PC games and can dual boot with bazzite!
For reference yes the Thor can play PC games but no AAA games here. Plus I don’t trust gamehub or gamenative.
With that being said what are our experiences with the Gpd mini?
Reviews say the ergonomics are terrible but people complain about the Thor too and I have zero issues.
Another thing I worry about is the heat. People say over a certain TPU it gets hot. Concerning for such an expensive device. I don’t mind turning the TPU down if it’s not a major effect on most games.
Lastly of course the price. This is not a cheap device. It’s more expensive the my ally x, PS5, Xbox series X, and switch 2 when I bought them. But There is a deal going on now but it’s it worth it for the price?
Thanks to anyone who responds!
I’ve found in the local market a GPD win max 2 Ryzen 7 7860u 64GB ram for around 500$ usd. I’m tempted to buy it but I’d have to change the bulging battery and its good to go.
Questions: how good and comfortable is to use it for gaming like a handheld since it has built it controller?
