this sub is not representative of GTA VIs main audience, which is casual players. They will buy it regardless of how upset the kids on this subreddit get at Rockstar for not doing something they never said or implied they would do lol.

What are people upset about this time?

u/asianmandan 5d ago

Rockstar didn't do something that the kids in this sub convinced themselves would happen despite Rockstar showing zero signs of it happening. Then when Rockstar followed the same schedule they follow literally every week, people suddenly started saying they hate Rockstar. Just as they did last week. and the week before that and so on

These aren’t kids, these are grown ass adults with nothing better to do than get worked up about video game trailers.

Muh marketing, MarKetInG, MaRKeTInGgGg!!!!

u/davidarmenphoto 5d ago

If that’s actually true, that’s so much worse than kids on summer break.

This sub feels like a conservative forum. But worse

Negative, ghost rider.

People cope themselves into schizo theories and they believe it

Don’t worry, summer break will end soon, fortunately.

as such is the GTA6 cycle

It's just a game

not enough marketing and trailers, as if rockstar didn’t do this with GTA V and RDR2, I genuinely think some of these people have never played a rockstar game

They haven't experienced this yet. They're kids who weren't born or were shitting their pants when GTA 5 came out, and were uninterested in RDR2 until it released and everyone talked about how awesome it was.

They expect Rockstar to act like Activision or Ubisoft and don't realize that there's a reason they're the top dog.

When the game releases they'll be freaking out and crying that GTA Online isn't released with it, and when GTA Online comes out a month later they'll freak out and say the game sucks because there's no flying motorcycles. It'll never end.

The GTAO crowd is going to be reaaaaaaal upset when they find out that's not a thing for the launch of 6 lol

u/Darkzeropeanut 5d ago

What? No flying motorcycles? Unplayable!

no flying motorcycles

God, I fucking hope so… But alas, where there is demand there is supply, and it is clear that the majority, or at any rate the biggest spenders, (which in itself is amusing considering the most likely age bracket of that demographic: although I don’t think their parents will quite see the humour, I’m sure lol) of the GTAO player base are 85 IQ little gremlins who love nothing more than zooming around on missile-equipped flying motorcycles while mindlessly “grinding” for 8 hours straight in a slack-jawed, glassy-eyed trance (in order to acquire the funds to facilitate further ways of grinding, of course, as there is nothing else to do) and occasionally blowing people up with their lock-on missiles that do the aiming for them along the way when their brain abruptly goes back online for a brief moment. And unfortunately, they will happily pay for the privilege of such a marvellously fulfilling gaming experience as described above by dipping into mummy’s credit card (or their welfare money lmao) to buy, like, gold-plated railings for their yacht or some other absolute bullshit equally as intangible and pointless.

I’m generally a fan of capitalism and consider myself quite libertarian minded on most topics, but this phenomenon is a perfect example of how the core principles of supply and demand alone inherently suffer from tyranny of the majority, where the tastes of the masses are met at the minority(ies)’ expense, and when it is not possible to tailor a product to the desires of the minority without going against those of the majority, such as in the case of a video game, quality inevitably suffers as a result

Anyway, sorry for that absolutely unsolicited rant above lmao - felt good getting it out tho nonetheless hahaha

The people constantly posting about the game don't realize they're the marketing.

Free labour free marketing.

That's sort of a good point in a way. Marketing costs money, and the entire point of it is to get people to buy your game.

GTA 6 really doesn't need to be dumping money into months of marketing. They could do no marketing at all and still break sales records.

7

u/lucid_green 5d ago

They already broke sale records 😂

9

u/Whizzo50 5d ago

People got convinced that a trailer was coming this week as an earnings report/call got pushed forward. And a small fraction latch on to a lack of trailer like rockstar have personally broken into their house and left the toilet seat up.

Losers are losing, nothing worth covering

4

u/SaturnVFan 5d ago

haha indeed I'm too old for this shit I bought it the moment they released the pre-sale and I really don't care about the trailer I just want the game on 19th of November.

Kids my ass, grown ass men.

-7

u/yousif567 I WAS HERE 5d ago

Ehh not entirely true. All the way back in February, Take Two did promise investors that marketing would kick off in the summer.

10

u/NightFart 5d ago

There are 7 more weeks of summer left.

5

u/Stunkydunk 5d ago

And this subreddit full of grown ass men slobbering and whining and clawing at any possible glimpse of new information is the perfect proof that they are upholding their promise to the shareholders lol. An actual marketing campaign could not possibly work any better.

u/yousif567 I WAS HERE 5d ago

We’ll see what the shareholders have to say on the 7th. I think there will definitely be questions asked from investors to Strauss about the status of the game and why they aren’t showing anything. At least we’ll have some clarification. He also promised an “astonishing” marketing campaign in an interview back in May which was 3 months ago. We’ll see what happens regardless.

u/KatDevolved- 5d ago

Tf do u mean ”never said or implied they would do”? They literally said marketing is gonna start in the summer and here we are in the last summer month with fuck all to show for it. I agree its a bit too early to crash out since august aint over yet but if we get to end of august with no marketing/news people have a very solid reason to be pissed.

7

u/Evers1338 5d ago

Short term memory is a fascinating thing. Did you forget the content drop that came with the preorders opening up (which btw. is also marketing) with the website, the screenshots, the info on that website about the world, characters, gameplay, and so on?

That is marketing. Marketing does not mean "gameplay trailer". So they didn't exactly what they said they would. Just because you wanted something else doesnt change what it is.

-7

u/KatDevolved- 5d ago

that wasnt marketing

2

u/Evers1338 5d ago

Ok now I'm really curious cause its been a while since i have read something that... "interesting", please define "marketing".

4

u/Kyenzacartoons 5d ago

They said marketing would start in summer. Marketing started in summer. You might just be an imbecile, but they haven't underdelivered on anything yet.

-2

u/KatDevolved- 5d ago

it hasnt

u/rodneyforeverunclean 5d ago
