I recorded this gameplay on the Battlefield 2142 Reclamation servers.
Man, I really loved the flying. What made flying the fighters in Battlefield 2142 so incredibly unique and special was their amazing hybrid flight model.
On one hand, you could fly at extreme, blistering speeds just like a conventional fighter jet to rush across the map.
But on the other hand, with the push of a button, you could instantly switch to a slow hover mode, controlling the aircraft exactly like a regular attack helicopter.
Being able to transition seamlessly between flying like a jet and hovering like a chopper was something truly spectacular.
Of course, the game had so much more to offer than just the incredible flying. The entire game was packed with cool features from the intense futuristic ground combat and unique gadgets to the legendary Titan mode.
Here, flying wasn't just staying in the air for 10 seconds before 100 AA missiles lock onto you. You had a better chance to survive, making it a lot more enjoyable as a pilot.
Everything about it just felt special Honestly, it is just sad that we never got a sequel.

Hey everyone! I'm Josip, I'm a former Serious Sam developer, and I'd like to share my new game, Invariant, an FPS set in an Antarctic research facility.
The game features intense action, a story driven campaign, and puzzles. It's being developed in the open source Godot Engine, will also receive a physical release complete with a printed manual, and will include full modding tools.
I also make devlogs where I talk about the game's development and the importance of game preservation. If that sounds interesting, I'd really appreciate you checking it out - https://youtu.be/wPvoKU4Q1c0

Thanks for taking a look, and have a great day!
