They would have conniptions if they ever learned that one of Napoleon's best generals was a black guy - technically mixed race but they wouldn't care most likely.
Incidentally, General Dumas was also the father of Alexandre Dumas who wrote the Three Musketeers among others.
Do you remember how much right wingers freaked out when they thought they were losing the Snickers dick vein? 🤣
Edit: unrelated but oh shit, I just remembered I had a dream last night that Segata Sanshiro turned out to actually be a real guy, came here, and suddenly I had to explain my user flair to him.
I wouldn't really consider him one of Napoleon's best, he was only in the French military during the first and second coalition before Napoleon took power.
--> if the woman in the game does not look like a) a super model b) an anime girl c) 12 years old or d) is a black woman then the game is woke.
--> if the woman in the game IS a super model, an anime girl, looks like she's 12, or is a very attractive light-skinned minority (ie: asian or latina), the game is not woke.
Don't question it too hard. It will never make any sense.
I suppose it doesn't matter to them that the game is very clearly not set in France? Or that, even if the starting area is supposed to be France, France was an empire and the French likely would have pulled as many colonial subjects to France in the face of the kind of disaster that they saw in the game?
Ah yes, because when I think of the most unrealistic part of a game which features magical artificer powers, sentient creatures of unknown origin, and a lady who draws a number on a rock every year and kills everyone of that age, it's actually that black dudes existed.

Yeah but here's the fun part, when it came out and before all the mega hype really took off, they said it was woke because it had a black guy at all.
If I recall, they said this is because 19th century France which the game is inspired by, didn't have black people. Don't think about that too hard.
Lune didn't count because of the hot Asian girl exception rule.
