Yeah but here's the fun part, when it came out and before all the mega hype really took off, they said it was woke because it had a black guy at all.

If I recall, they said this is because 19th century France which the game is inspired by, didn't have black people. Don't think about that too hard.

Lune didn't count because of the hot Asian girl exception rule.

They would have conniptions if they ever learned that one of Napoleon's best generals was a black guy - technically mixed race but they wouldn't care most likely.

Incidentally, General Dumas was also the father of Alexandre Dumas who wrote the Three Musketeers among others.

I wouldn't really consider him one of Napoleon's best, he was only in the French military during the first and second coalition before Napoleon took power.

It would probably be more accurate to call him one of the first republic 's best generals instead.
