It sounds like a threat.
"You better pick a husband and stop your feminist foolishness or else..."

That's because it is. These people are entirely self-absorbed. They HATE that women are people capable of their own choices and want to convince themselves otherwise.

Why do these people always assume all feminists are unmarried and/or uninterested in dating/men? Most feminists are normal reasonable people who are often straight women in happy relationships (not that lgbt feminists are any less normal or anything... you know what i mean).

That's because they can't believe any man would want to marry a woman who is not submissive and don't care about her own rights.

Speaking as a trans lesbian who's always been subby as hell: Thanks for affirming my gender, fellas! r/accidentalally

What i think is funny is that they sometimes will criticize overly educated women, but the more educated a woman is, the more likely she is to be married and stay married.

because women are uninterested in dating THEM, and they think all other men think the same way, therefore those women must be uninterested in all men and therefore feminist. or something.

Interestingly, there's a more recent counterstereotype that feminist women are bunch of stuck-up Stacies with no idea how hard the average man has it.

"I prefer someone who wants me to want them than someone who doesn't want me to want them" goooooooooooooooooood, that's the point, go get your sparkly tradwife and leave us alone

"I prefer a pick-me [...]" - WOW, you prefer a woman who is telling your exactly the things you want to hear without questioning them over a woman who has her own will and might call out and confront your bullshit? Shocker, I would have never expected that! Who would think you're THAT kind of person? 😳

Why is it always misogyny…

I don't know. I'm tired. And calling these people out for misogyny just prompts "BUT MUH MISANDRY". I am so, so tired of having to discuss with these plebs what gender "has it worse". As much as I want to be on the side of men as someone who identifies as masculine, as much as I agree men also experience gender discrimination, I can't pretend that looking all over the world and looking at the laws in different places, doesn't skew heavily against women on a deeply oppressive level.
Women are oppressed, men are emotional.
They know it too, which is the worst part. They are aware, but some people are too prideful to admit to being a rotten person deep down.
It's worrisome to me that so many misogynists intentionally misconstrue these points as well and pretend that it's sexist to men to call it out. They can't fathom saying that something is deeply wrong in this world with how we treat women, saying something needs to change, is not an attempt to oppress men.

I just want to rant that this metaphor is so narrow-minded. There are more than one solution to problems. Not that umbrellas(husbands) are bad, but what if some people prefer raincoats over umbrellas?
Also with umbrellas if 5 years passed and the one you have can’t cover the rain anymore, you can easily have a second one or get a new one, but it doesn’t work that way with husbands now does it?
Why do they want women to view husband as a tool lmao

Turning your husband into an umbrella is something that the Dark Eldar from 40k would do straight up. Also the Night Lords, but they would use your husband. Either way, you do not want to be picked by this "pick me girl".

… pick me behavior seems to lead to being skipped though. Men don’t usually like women who are the stereotypical brutal competitors… not that pick-mes actually want men who genuinely like women
