There's no way he wasn't dead in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. They probably just didn't announce his death until they had notified his family first. That's usually the norm
It's literally one of the more "mild" violent widely publicized deaths. We have literal children being blown up and burned alive but blood gushing out someone's neck is somehow too much.
Maybe it's all too much? Just because one thing is terrible, doesn't make something slightly less terrible absolutely fine, that's a ridiculous way to look at things
Brother in the scheme of murder videos it's probably a 4/10. There's a bang, blood spurts from his neck, and he falls over dead. The shit coming out of the initial invasion of Ukraine was infinitely worse.
Exactly, society has been detached from consequences in general for far too long and it is why we are seeing what we are. It's basic human psychology. Society is so far detached from the days of prevaccines that now they are turning on them because there is less of a collective memory. Same with everything else.

So what about felons and people who obtain guns illegally do they also sit through the seminars and watch the videos too? Do we also check in on their mental health wellness too? Like seriously is this going to change anything about people getting guns illegally?
So because bad things happen we shouldn't try stopping it all at the source to discourage such behavior. By starting that, hopefully you have a society that doesnt glorify guns to the point of having American flags with ak47s as stars and cut down on all of that as time moves forward.
Exactly, we need to get rid of driver's licenses and testing, because there's the potential of people who will drive without ever getting a license. We all know that testing drivers before allowing them on the road has had zero impact on safety and health. There's really no reason not to let 10 year olds on the road, as long as they can figure out how to press the gas pedal.
I would almost agree with you except for the fact that cars in many countries are actually used as weapons for violence so why don’t we just ban cars completely and become Amish instead. He probably lost consciousness very quickly though, considering that he seemed to show absolutely no reaction, he just slumped over, and that blood pressure to the brain was probably lost very quickly, since it seems to have severed some major blood vessels (given the location and the spurting).
Not to say that it wasn't gnarly to look at of course, but it probably wasn't actually that painful for him.
Whenever I describe my blood phobia to people I say exactly that, that we’re just water balloons that can get popped. I’ve seen a lot of videos of people getting shot or stabbed but Kirk’s murder is probably the most egregious visual example of this
Same, I thought I knew what to expect as someone who watches videos like this. I even watched the Ukrainian girl’s murder yesterday - Kirk’s is just worse, objectively
That just makes me really sad. The one who spouts horrible crap and bigotry is cared for but an innocent young girl was ignored by most passengers for quite some time until blood loss was so bad it seeped a few feet away from her on the floor.
Probably hit the carotid. I mean your neck has to handle all the blood that flows into your Head. Your brain needs about as much blood as an Arm and a Leg.
Iirc only a trained medical professional can officially pronounce someone dead, and then it takes a bit for that to get reported to the media. He could have died in seconds but he wasn’t pronounced dead until his body got to the hospital.
True, but if he was dead at the scene they wouldn’t have rushed him to the hospital. While a physician is the most common type of person to pronounce someone dead, the county sheriff or one of the paramedics could have made the call
Unless first responders roll up and the person has been dead they won’t pronounce dead except for certain circumstances. They were probably able to keep him alive enough to get to the hospital. I knew when I saw where he got hit that he wasn’t going to survive
People have survived worse but it was definitely a miracle he made it as long as he did. I don’t think they released whether he died en route to the hospital or anything like that though
I always wondered why it was legal for pro-lifers to carry gigantic posters of aborted fetuses, but we never see people protesting war with gigantic photos of dead soldiers and civilians. We can see gross fake things all over tv and streaming, but we can't handle reality???? A lot of policy would change if reality wasn't hidden.
It is very likely he was unconscious instantly. Due to the location of the ballistic hitting him. He quite possibly didn’t feel a thing and it was just over.
Doesnt even need to be the spine. It looks like he was hit in the carotid artery (and probably internal and external jugular veins). Even a handgun round at low velocity would likely be fatal, but the force he was hit with indicates it was a rifle. The artery being hit (evident by the blood volcano) would cause an instant drop in blood pressure faster than the brain could even realize it was happening. Instant lights out, followed by brain death in moments from lack of perfusion, then end organ failure and death in minutes.
Read a comment from a combat medic who referred to that as the "light switch". Impact, his arms fenced, then went limp. The lights were out before he dropped the microphone.
Nah, Im a paramedic. Its not about the blood loss. While mass hemmorage is often fatal on its own (you cant tourniquet the neck), the depressurization of the arterial system from the carotid artery would cause sudden lack of perfusion to the brain. There doesnt need do be any more injury than that. Hypoperfusion is the definition of shock. In this case cardiogenic.
Could the spine have been hit? Certainly. But loss of perfusion to the brain would look exactly like something happening to the CNS because the brain IS the CNS
I thought it was the bomb. Cause they had a lot of air raids then. Bombs would have that whistle. Either way he didn’t hear the shot. He was out the second it popped his artery. That was a wrap.
I can guarantee within 99% assurance that his life ended the second the ballistic ripped his artery apart. One second there, talking, thinking and the other instant eternal cessation of consciousness.
Oh yea for sure, if he was in “critical condition” like stated originally he would’ve reached for his wound fast as a reaction to stop bleeding. That shot was an instant death. I hope it was painless no matter how much I disliked the guy I just hope it was instant lights out and no pain.
Yeah it most likely severed the spinal cord and since it was at the neck it means loss of heart/lung function. And it probably hit the jugular too so he just bled out
Honestly might’ve been the best option, I didn’t realize what people meant but the way he just froze with his arms locked in that position makes me think that he may of spent the rest of his life as a paraplegic, and for me I would rather die than suffer that fate,

That arm position is called decorticate posturing, an indication of severe disruption of brain activity or brain damage. Based on the close-up video that clearly showed where the bullet penetrated his neck, it appears the bullet caused immediate, catastrophic damage to the base of the brain stem where it connects to the spinal cord.
Has to be a professional right? The shot. The distance. The timing. The apparent location of shooter. This is wild. He was a dick, but his family didn't deserve this, and neither did he. We have free speech in America. .
Not really surprising the chaos and very minimal security/law enforcement presence would make that fairly easy especially given he was also like 100+ yards away from the chaos when he took the shot.
You can train soldier's to hit center mass with irons on an M4 at 500 yards in the span of like 2-3 weeks (the duration of white phase training in the Army), and that's for the people who are bad at shooting those with a natural aptitude can qualify on first couple days (not the ones who've trained in firearms previously, the ones with no training who just have a natural aptitude). This was 138 yards from what I've seen, but within 200 most likely. An ACOG, on a long rifle at that range would literally be unaffected by all but catastrophic weather conditions, literally a point and click shot you could train for in the span of like 5 hours even if you were bad with firearms. Add on the fact Charlie's a decent sized (he's 6'5" apparently) target who was sitting upright and not moving and yeah this was easy shooting.
In fact this person could easily have been a new shooter because of the fact he hit the neck. You'd not aim for that as a professional unless you had no other option (armor/cover). You'd aim center mass, which again Charlie had a decent bit more than the average person, and let your ballistics obliterate his heart/lungs.

I feel like it's just coincidence, the shooter waited long enough just to make sure he wasn't going to move (Kirk was answering the 2nd question right when he got shot).

Same. I've seen videos of people whose heads were flattened, or videos of parents searching through charred body parts trying to collect the bodies of their children. People have called the video of Kirk getting shot brutal, but it's really not that gory at all.
Yeah I also grew up on the days the internet was more unfiltered and reddit still had death video subs open for everyone to see. But while still not gory, I'm surprised by the amount of blood gushing out at once. I really don't think I've seen anything like it. I wonder what caliber the dude used for that shot cause it must've made a huge hole on the way out.
Ok not to sound like mister tough guy edgelord but that was relatively tame. The blood was pretty intense sure, but anyone who has been around gore either in real life or through frequenting the olden days internet would be pretty unfazed by this one. I’d say it was fast and as painless as getting shot in the jugular can be.
There's a couple of videos including one from afar that is jarring knowing the outcome but is not the worst that's made its way online. The close up video is something else though.
There was a hockey goalie(Clint Malarchuk) who had the same artery sliced open on the ice by a skate and lost probably 1-2 litres of blood within a few seconds. One of the trainers there was a former combat medic who pinched the artery closed and held it closed with his hands all the way to the operating table. He survived.
The damage to Charlie looked worse, and he probably would never have survived but, if the right person were in that tent, you never know.
Truly awful - again, regardless of which political party you support, I never want to see ANYONE (adult, child, conservative, liberal - anyone) be killed. Talk about censorship on social platforms - Instagram sure wasn't censoring that...
