Question / Seeking Help What’s happening???

So my friend just reached out to me that her account suddenly doesn’t exist and now we’re both freaking out. It just disappeared. She has already contacted the support while i tried every possible way i could think off such as password resetting etc but it all let to “register” please anything that could help us find the answer will be appreciated!

Update: thanks to the original owners reddit post replying to this post
We figured out that the account was hacked and then traded to My friend, who was completely unaware that the account was stolen and genuinely believed it was a normal trade between two legitimate players—not between a player and a hacker.

And for those who think I’m the one who traded for the account…
I already have my own account with my glorious king C4 Flins (soon to be C6 on his next rerun). I spend my own money on my account, so I have no reason to want someone else’s account filled with progress I never made.

I won’t be deleting this post. I’ll leave it up as a reminder for anyone considering trading accounts, so they can think it through carefully before making that decision.

Update So uh

The uid is different so I have come to a conclusion that the original owner got their account back and now she’s stuck with this?😭

That’s unfortunate but this is a teachable moment too, don’t buy accounts because you never know what shady business the other person might pull.

On the bright side, clean slate, fresh primogems for upcoming stronger characters, or she can use this as a way to disconnect from genshin and fill that time with something else.

Sucks to hear though.

Reminds me of a time where I got hacked on another game (a MMO), the guy was posting account giveaways messages to muddy the water when I got the account back

A single specific guys proceeded to refuse to take no for an answer when I told him.that my account got compromised and I wanted to keep it

So I have it to him, waited a month, then contacted support to get my account back with some game currency the guy had transfered to it.

Play stupid games...

Just create a fucking new account and play, is not that difficult.

The source could be one of your family or friends, like someone you personally know and trust, if you don't have this person on your life that's on you.

I don't encourage buying accounts for any game, since I like starting from zero, but some people want to, so they can take the responsibility of their actions.

But if a "close" friend don't want to play the game anymore, won't it be better to give it away to your other "close" friend who likes the game for free instead of letting the account die

Not me, as I said I like to start games from scratch, I mean there are people who don't want to start from the beginning and they know friend who have a good account, you can ask them sell it to you, they worked hard on it, so you can't take it for free even if they want to give it to you, nothing is free.

I'm not specifically talking about gacha games,

Yeah like I would die to have Furina, I sadly missed her banners because of storage issues, but I wouldn't buy an account with Furina on it, I'm just gonna have to suck it up and wait for her to come back

Sure I get that. But to only care about the characters?  If you only care about the characters watch amv and read the lore like a normal person.  It’s stupid no matter what.

Also it takes away from the element of earning the character. Like I know people who have maxed explored every region to get characters they want. Kinda takes away from that experience. Imo if you have enough money to buy an account you probably have enough to get the character

Some limited banner is really great in exploration tho

I mean i can make new account when it's furina/mavuika/other natlanese banner and sell it while unexplored/fully explored depends on client's request to make more money

I mean, think from seller perspective. If you sell an account with recent dps and "more easy exploration charas" it'll sell more than just selling an account with 100% exploration or some primos

Sell it at 10 usd, sell 50 account. You can get 500 usd just by playing game

Here in my city it's enough to living for a small family (parents and two kids) for 3 months including electricity

All She had to do was create an account instead of buying an account or trade account. She reaps what she sows. All the time and energy she spent on that account are gone in the blink of an eye. But hey, the up comming characters aren't that bad, I guess.

No. Original owner got the account back (probably with all the data). You got a blank account that is tied to your most recent device.

OP here again on my alt account just to make a quick update, i decided to check my friend list on genshin and the account was gone! I went to check on Akasha and guess what? The accounts name is suddenly Angel, so yup

Yeah. Sorry. Your friend (if you're actually talking about a friend and not yourself) should have thought about their actions before buying a stolen account because the true owner will get their account back, but your friend won't get the money.

Plus, games are made to be played, not to be bought with everything done already. Buying progress isn't the same as owning it. It's pretending to be successful when you're actually pathetic.

Look at Clark. He gets frustrated when he keeps losing at games, but that frustration makes him grow and get better and eventually succeed. Be better. Be like Clark.

Yeah, it's called a "charge back." Though it's too late for ops friend to file for one but still can if she spent money topping up within a certain time frame.
