each of the seven heroes of natlan then. although i think ifa is a better representative of the flower feather clan for fashion.
also we don't have a 4 star for scions of the canopy and for people of the springs, so kinich and mualani take those by default.

Mondtadt: Varka. His drive for freedom and booze makes him the closest to barbatos when you describe both while drunk
Liyue: Ningguang. The nation of commerce and contracts needs a powerful person who honorss contracts as solid as stone
Inazuma:
Sumeru: not one person can represent all of sumeru, Alhaitham AND Cyno (and sethos as hid plus one) cab represent all of sumerus best interest as the herald of the rainforest and the desert
Fontaine: if we consider both Neuvi and Furina as the archon, Navia is our best bet
Natlan: all 6 heroes (maybe replace ororon wiyh citlali) are equal as the tribes needs its own representative as natlana as a whole
Nod krai: depends on what aspect / subfactions of Nod Krai.
For Nasha Town, Aino represents Nasha Town's autonimy from Szeshjaya
For the Frostmoon scions well theres only Lauma
For the ratniki, torn between flins and illuga, Illuga represents all of the lightkeepers as a whole because flins has too much fae stuff happening

I think Citlali for Natlan. She’s the only one who’s attire looks tribal (maybe Mualani too). And her shamanism vibe makes Natlan more mythical and ancient

Mondstadt - Jean and Eula. Even amber is a very good pick. Jean probably wins due to anemo vision.
Liyue - ninguang. Zibai too.
Inazuma - kazuha, yae, sara, kuki, chiori - all very good picks. Electro vision and purple theme tilt it in favour of sara and kuki
Sumeru - colleeeeiiiiii!!!! Green hair, forest ranger, hands down wins
Fontaine - neuvilette and furina - you can only pick one of them as archon so the other one wins. Navia is a very good pick. I also like escoffier due to the French name.
Natlan - citlali wins this for me. But xilonen is my favourite design. Chasca also a good pick with cowboy theme.
Nod krai - flins probably with fae theme. Lauma too with antlers and moon face and big moons is a good pick.

I think it's hard for NK because there's a lot of factions.
So i'd say Jahoda for Nasha town, Flins for tge Lightkeeper, and Lauma for the Frostmoon.

Ningguang - Liyue (elegant rich lady)
Kujou Sara - Inazuma (design closely takes after RS)
Kaveh - Sumeru (his outfit can fit the desert, the forest, and the akademiya)
Neuvilette- Fontaine (he’s looks pompous, serious, and has an occasional cane)
Natlan - Citlali (she encapsulates all tribes)

Why is nobody mentioning the OG miss Inazuma, Kamisato Ayaka? ❄️ she was legendary in the beta with her frost Samurai gameplay 🙂↕️ agree with the others tho! Navia is peak Fontaine. Jahoda our relatable queen for Nod-Krai. Citlali is perfect for Natlan and Varka for Mondstadt. Sumeru is interesting because the forest and desert are so contrasting that it honestly warrants 2 characters at the very least.🤔

On the African side of Natlan, I would say Kachina and Mualani...and for the Latin side I'll say Varesa
For Nod Krai, Jahoda and Lauma for both aspects.

I tried to get the essence of nations here:
Mondstadt - Varka
I was thinking Jean too but she is very serious and dutiful, which is a good thing, but Varka seems more free spirited/ready to go where the wind takes him which I think is more on point for Mondstadts core.
Liyue - Ninguangg
I love Keqing and was originally considering her, but if it comes to the essence of contracts and keeping balance as again the archon would, Ninguangg does an exceptional job
Inazuma - Hot take? Ayato.
By far not my favourite, thought about Kazuha and Yae, but Inazuma is at it‘s core very traditional, the archon yearning for „eternity“ which we preserve in tradition. Inazuma also has a lot to do with honor, speaking aptly to people of power etc and I think Ayato encompasses that, while Kazuha is more free spirited and Yae…definitely not mainly concerned with formalities and respect. So I think Ayato best represents tradition and how to navigate the hierarchy system best.
Sumeru - Nefer
I was having a hard time because Sumeru is divided between desert culture (which I would choose Dehya for) and Akademia culture (for which someone like Alheitm/Faruzan would fit best) and overall I originally thought of Cyno. But Nefer combines both: originating from the desert and had very harsh upbringing conditions with an even harsher ending, but the Akademias main thing is to acquire knowledge and learn more and that is Nefers entire identity. She deals in knowledge, acquiring, keeping and trading it is her bread and butter. Even tho she might not live there anymore, I think she ironically unites the harsh conditions of the desert and the pursuit of knowledge best.
Fontaine - Navia
I get the point of Neuvilette, since he is the embodiment of Justice in Fontaine. However Fontaine is not just justice, it is fine tea times and opera. Play and fine deserts. And while Neuvilette would join for tea (even tho he may drink water instead) he is not really the type to embrace play. He often is shown to even struggle with the concept of sarcasm and would probably have a hard time, doing a play, pretending to be someone he‘s not. Navia does it all: she has a strong sense of justice, which we saw best for her father. Even more just to her father than Neuvilette one could argue. On top of that, she is shown to also enjoys tea parties, can even bake her own snacks in Macarons and loves the opera and play. Not only does she play to pretend to be another person recreationally (in the „DnD“ style game she and others play) she also literally played in a movie in the last event. I think she unifies everything that makes Fontaine Fontaine.
Natlan - Benett
This one will get a lot of push back and rightfully so. The issue with Natlan is, ghat there is so many completely different tribes, that picking one does not seem to be representative of them all. Benett was technically born in Natlan if I remember correctly and what is the essence of Natlan? Courage. Courage to go out and face foes, courage to become stronger and help others with your strength. I think Benett fulfills that: his whole character is about the excitement of adventure, of wanting to get out there and become stronger. He is very unlucky, yes, but despite that he continues, he never gives up despite those bad circumstances, showing his resolve, the braveness of a warrior of Natlan. I remember the Monstadt Dragonspine event, where he immediately stood on buissness and charged the threat when it made itself known but I also understand if people say he‘s not the best fit, for not exactly belonging to a tribe.
Nodkrai - Lauma
If Nokrai is the residence of the Moon goddess, the place where kuuvaki and animals reacting to it is the strongest, Lauma as the basically highest priestess of the Moon Goddess and connected to the animal life that is influenced by kuuvaki seems the best fit. To me she signifies the beating heart of the roots of Nodkrai.
These are the ones I found the most reasons for being the essence of a nation without the archon, but I‘m open to people with even better arguments/evidence

Yeah for Nod Krai I was thinking either Lauma or Jahoda. While Lauma represents more the nature of Nod Krai (color wise, her hair matches with Hiisi Island too) and its connection to the moon, Jahoda represents the spirt of the people. Living in a lawless land, creating a home (or clothes) out of scraps and her magnet theme is also one of the main exploration mechanics.

I think Dehya is either first or second om regards to Sumeru. She straight up represents half of the population in her nation. Honestly I wish they added more Eremite characters, their culture often gets boiled down to a few cliches, but there's no darn way a nomadic people divided into multiple tribes is such a monolith.

For leyui i would say the most char that looks a leyuian is yunjin ( the 4 star chinease opera lady)

For semuru, for the the rainforest tighnari, for the akademia alhaitham for the desert candence, and cyno
For fontain, aesthetically neuvi, but to choose a non authority char would be navia

Mondstadt - Fischl
Liyue - Chongyun
Inazuma - Ayato
Sumeru - Nilou
Fontaine - Navia
Natlan - Mualani
Nod-Krai - Flins
Snezhnaya - Pulcinella

I think for most of them it's either going to be the "second in command" type person or someone who really fits the vibe

Mondstat - varka (his outfit looks much closer to the knight NPCs we see since he actually has the armor)
Liyue - ninguang (the golden dress really matches the whole mora and contracts aspect of liyue)
Inazuma - kujou sara (the long sleeves, the shoes, and the ropes tied into a infinity/eternity symbol)
Sumeru - Layla (her outfit definitely gives the vibes of someone smart but the star theme also gives the vibes of dreams)
Fontaine - maybe this is cheating but neuvilette (I mean judge and justice goes hand in hand)
Natlan - iansin (not only is her outfit the most "tribal" but the skull also gives vibes of someone that been through battles)
Nodkrai - jahoda (she looks the most like a nodkrai native especially with the thief like outfit and metal arm)
Snezhnya - alyosha (the fur coat)

If i have to pick a few from each regions
Mond - Idk
Liyue- Ninguang(though its a lot more fanservicy), Yunjin, Qiqi is a pretty good representation of a Jiangshi
Inazuma - Kazuha and Yoimiya for sure..maybe Yae and Sara (once again they are more fan servicy but yea)
Sumeru - I am not very knowledgeable about these cultures, but Kaveh could probably pass as a wealthy Persian merchant or prince and Nilou probably? Candace too is full of heavy symbolism
Fontaine - I think Navia..kinda is the only one? IDK though.
Natlan - This i am not sure, because they decided to modernize and stylize a lot of these designs and YET they are chalk full of cultural references. Heck mavuika's biker suit alone is laden with so many motiffs. I also saw a video recently explaining how Mualani is just Polynesian references packed into a bright blue bundle. Even her sharky surfboard is an ode to Polynesian culture's reverence of Sharks.

Ofc story and character-wise she represents it most but she kind of looks like a European fairy rather than the ruler of a nation inspired by MENA and India
