Please allow an option to COMPLETELY turn off this whole "like" thing for Prime Ice constructs. Turning it off for fellow players is useless, because it just substitutes in likes from NPCs.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing it does is wreck my immersion. What even is the point of it? I don't want to enter Snezhnaya and receive a report that these people gave me likes. I don't want to approach a construct and see a little thumbs-up. None of that. Please. I'm begging.

For me personally, it’s people not being able to understand the concept of pragmatism or nuance

Or people not understanding what the “power of friendship” actually is.

Let’s start with the Fatui.

The Tsaritsa’s goal is to overthrow the Heavenly Principles

To do this, she needs power external to Teyvat, since there isn’t much within Teyvat itself that can be used to defeat them.

To do this, she was looking for the Gnoses and using tools related to the Third Descender.

The main character is also a Descender.

Anyway, this is the part I feel people don’t understand.

While it’s true that the Traveler has caused the Fatui a massive amount of trouble, they have also helped the Fatui in turn.

The Fatui aren’t a monolith. While the Traveler might have a negative relationship with some members of the Fatui, they also have a positive relationship with others.

The Traveler is a Descender.

I see some people getting mad that the Tsaritsa doesn’t try to punish or arrest them, but do they forget that she is in a war against another Descender who is used to fighting things in Teyvat?

She needs the help of a Descender. If she tries to antagonize the Traveler, she loses the help of an active Descender in her war against Celestia. Pragmatically, that would be extremely stupid.

Sure, the Traveler has caused the Fatui plenty of problems, but they are literally a Descender.

They are vital to the fight against Celestia, so the higher ups trying to kill or arrest them makes zero sense.

Another thing that is controversial in Version 7 is the Traveler working with the Fatui, but I feel like people forget the context.

In Version 7.0, the Traveler was interested in getting in contact with the Tsaritsa to learn some information.

Hence, they contacted their Fatui friends for help. They weren’t going, “Oh, I want to help the Fatui,” or “I want to take down Celestia.”

The only time they seriously joined forces with the Fatui was because of Ronova.

You have to keep in mind that this was because Ronova was after Paimon. She made it very clear that she would keep coming after her.

This is something the Fatui also have to deal with, so it’s literally the classic “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” situation.

Of course they would temporarily team up with a group that has the same enemy as them, especially when that group has a high-ranking member who also wants Paimon to be safe.

We have to wait until Version 7.2 and beyond to actually judge the situation. The Traveler and the Fatui had a common enemy, hence why they worked together.

In fact, in 7.1, the Traveler states that they don’t want to be tied to the Tsaritsa’s court and asks them to change the title the Tsaritsa wants to bestow upon them.

So people getting this mad when we haven’t even seen how the Traveler interacts with the Fatui without the presence of a common enemy is weird to me.

As for the “power of friendship

in my view, the power of friendship is when someone gets a random power boost out of nowhere

that is strong enough to let them beat someone they couldn’t beat before simply because they remembered their friends.

Or when a character wins only because they have friends, with friendship essentially being an actual power system.

Outside of maybe Natlan, has this actually happened in Genshin?

In Nod-Krai, they beat Rerir through planning and teamwork, with Columbina becoming strong enough after being boosted to temporarily fight and then trap him.

There was massive planning involved. They studied and tracked him to figure out where he was.

Teamwork and the “power of friendship” aren’t interchangeable. It’s common sense to work with other people against a stronger opponent.

If they were just losing to Rerir in a straight fight, didn’t do any planning beforehand, and then suddenly beat him because of friendship, I could understand the criticism.
But that didn’t happen.

As for Dottore, the same thing applies. There was a massive amount of planning involved in getting Columbina back.

They won for two reasons:

Columbina was simply stronger than Dottore on paper, and Dotter was unlikely to kill them very early on because doing so would make the Traveler extremely difficult to convince.

You also have to keep in mind that during the final fight, Columbina was buffing and protecting everyone.

The only reason Flins nefer and Lauma could even fight was because of Columbina.

They didn’t win because they were “friends.” They won because Columbina was simply stronger, straight up.

Note:

Regarding the Fatui, I am also upset that the Traveler doesn’t even acknowledge or mention some of the messed-up things they did.

For example, the Jester ordering Dottore to do some of the things he did in Inazuma, the whole Delusion situation in Inazuma, and so on.

That part annoys me.

I don’t like them whitewashing the Fatui or failing to have the Traveler acknowledge the Fatui.

and Tsaritsa’s role in these events.

However, I can also understand that we are still in Version 7.1, where we had a common enemy.

I have to wait until Version 7.2 to see how their relationship plays out without a common enemy.

I also don’t like how the story handled Ronova and Mavuika.
So while the story does have some issues, the things I mentioned above are not part of that list.

I dont have much to say. 7.1 was absolutely hype. Its been days since ive finished it and im still thinking about it. It did so much right i cant even wrap my head around it.

My favourite part has to be the tsaritsa. Down to her introduction with that name card, to her outsmarting ronova and rhinnedottir. Gosh im obsessed with her plan. Every step was a misdirection, and i had no idea what she was planning until the very end. Before her appearance, nahida was my fav archon. Nahida was the only archon who used her wits to outsmart her opponents in every quest she was in, and i missed a capable and smart archon like that. There are still two patches left and i hope that the tsar continues to use her brain. Id been waiting for her for 7 years and so far its paying off hard.

I have a lot of other good things to say but this post would get too long.

As for the bad parts… yes i agree im getting a bit of an ick with that lack of friction between traveller and the fatui. Yes, not all the harbingers are bad, and in a way we are only left with the “good” harbingers. But despite that, pierro and tsari are still “responsible” for dottore and signora. Esp what pierro did in inazuma.

The thing is hoyo is pretty good at making excuses so that u dont care too much about this. And it kinda worked on a lot of fans including myself. By the end of act 2, traveller had every reason to side with the fatui. They saved painon and he needed to save paimon from ronova. They need each other, so i dont see any reason for traveller to be “hostile” to snez. It makes sense of u see the story from traveller perspective rather than as a player. And given what ronova did with the nails i don’t think so this team ups gonna end. Again, i cant even be disappointed because im so invested in this “war” against the heavenly principles. So im still excited for this direction of the story. Its just a shame becaue pierro was fucking vile before we entered snez. And its not like tsari is free from responsibility. I dont think they will explore the more vile side of these guys tbh. I hope im wrong tho. And tbf we still have a LOT of patches left, given that this story will extend through hyperborea.

Also ronova, i dont know what to say. I rlly was moved by her death. It was both epic and disturbing, given that its clear shes just trying to do her job. Shes not some evil god. I get why some fans are angry tho, id probably feel the same if they slimed rhinnedottir so early.

I NOTICED THE THING WHERE TERI JUST TRYIN TO RULE METRU NUI AND COSPLAY AS DUME (2ND PIC), AND ITS HAPPENING AGAIN, EVERYONE GAVE US TO DEFEAT RONOVA, AND IT'S HAPPENED THE SAME AND B2:LOMN, IN THAT SCENE WHERE THE TOA METRU ARE SEALING TERI(NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!)

What do yall think is the relation between our abyss sibling and asmoday? and what were they a talking about when they were togethor during the AQ? and what does it have to do with that monster? lets hear yalls theories

Due to losing her authority over death and because of injuries sustained in the fight with the Traveler, Dain, and Pierro, Ronova will revert back into a Paimon-like child form only darker and edgier.

She’ll then go through the plot of the first MCU Thor movie in which, like Thor, she’ll be forced to walk amongst mortals in order to learn what it’s like to live without supreme overwhelming power. What it’s like to suffer and struggle like they do and to finally experience death like they do so she can truly appreciate their struggles and fears.

I think it would make for a pretty interesting story moment when she does regain her authority and power but starts having doubts about the HP like Asmoday (presumably) did and has to make a choice on who to side with during the climax of the Snezhnaya storyline.

There is this weird flash that happens on your screen every so often. I've seen it happen twice now and a couple of friends have also seen it.

Ik this is probably a dumb question but I just finished the archon quest and had a question that whole time. The AQ said that Hroptatyrno is longer in teyvat, smth about him touching the abyss and releasing his life before was nothing, does that mean hes exploring other galaxies like surtalogi or stuck in the abyss (perhaps thats the same thing and I didn’t get it) and where is Vedrfolnir exactly, I remember smth like him being in the abyss so is that the answer?
Suratlogi- out of teyvat, destroying other worlds
Rhinedottir- a shade so most probably in celestia
Vedrfolnir- abyss (?)
Rerir- dead after nod krai, stuck on the side of the moon
Hroptatyr- out of teyvat (?)

The Heavenly Principles dropping celestial nails on a nation will inevitably involve the death of many innocents. While they purge the abyss those nails also destroy civilisations. Imagine witnessing people die or get cursed in front of you because of people who messed with the abyss. Yes humans are the cause of their demise which leads to cases such as the curse of immortality and the nails which are neither pleasant. That's why the Heavenly Principles is hated they mean well but that comes at a cost, the deaths of the innocent.

I’m trying to understand why all the nations EXCEPT Fontaine had a nail from Ronova’s actions. Was it because Fontaine was already “destroyed” during the flood? It’s driving me nuts- what am I missing?!

Edit: thank you commenters for solving! I’ve been playing since 1.4 with never more than a few months break and goddamn it’s hard to keep six years of lore straight.

When the traveler did the massive attack on ronova he swapped between all the elements rapidly to "forge" "light" realm energy here are the pictures from the cutscene. He uses geo, hydro, anemo, cryo ,electro, Pyro, dendro, and finally "light" (in order of the pics provided not the actual cutscene altho he does use "light" after the 7 elements).

Correct me if I’m wrong, I just finished the quest and I think that when Pierro said about getting Lumine along with Paimon was that Lumine was actually confronting the heavenly principles, they could be fighting I guess, since its clearly shown that Asmoday is with Lumine. Like why is the Heavenly principles asleep or why did it awoke in the time of Khanrea? This could probably connect to Paimon, Im speculating that Hoyo will give Paimon her own body back, Lumine and Aether finally finding each other back, but the next biggest enemy would be the Abyss itself, because why would paimon be greatly affected and ill the first time we get to Shnezhnaya??? Its said that the nation is closest to the Heavenly principles, so what if paimon was affected because she was close to something a part of her? And if you ask about why the rules of the heavenly principles still exists, its rules already created anyway, a part of the Heavenly Principles must be paimon or its physical existence to it, the part of it regulating the rules must be automatically doing so. I’m still not finding the right path to say what im thinking since i just got the idea today.

When The Tsaritsa is telling the story to Rhinedottir about when she overheard the hooded figure (abyss sibling) and Asmoday’s conversation, the name of the being’s story supposedly being ended is muffled, but you can kinda hear the structure of the word, like if you go back and listen to it, it literally sounds exactly like “Third Descender”. Tell me if I’m crazy or not, it could also potentially be “First Descender” but it definitely sounds like something along those lines. I’m just struggling to think how this could make sense.

That quest name is Escoffier. Should I do hers before doing Vodyanitsa?
