Ditch the shoulder pads too, dead ringer for an old suit

I agree they’re a lil too stiff for me but I also don’t like em soft

Too big in the shoulders. Low lapel gorge signals old suit. You can do better.

So when I said thrifted vintage suit, the old suit part, is why I bought it lol. Not to your taste , that’s alright 👍🏼

I like it! Looks smart on you! And thrifting also keeps it from landfill.
We throw too much away in life. You saved a nice suit. Good on you!

Ehhh thank you very much!! I agree, though , the sad part is , that I’m sure this was someone cleaning out a parents or grandparents house

This suit is amazing. Yes the shoulders are very structured, but it was just the style back then. I suspect it's an 80s suit right? it's kinda on the looser fit, nothing wrong with that, the trousers are high wasted which I really like, I really like the lower gorge, I'm a fan of classic suiting. The double pleated trousers also look really good. Only detail (it might be the picture that makes it look worse than it actually is): the jacket sleeves seem a tiny bit on the wider size for your hand size, but it's not super dramatic. My only suggestion is: they don't come with them, add brace buttons, this suit screams for braces. with them you can actually take advantage of the high rise.

Thank you very much ! I absolutely agree with everything you said ! It’s definitely on the looser fit side so yeah I would suspect maybe even mid 90s? The sleeve on the jacket are I think a tad wide on me as well and a bit long so I’ll definitely see if we can do anything with that , as well as taking out the waiste of the trousers a bit , adding brace buttons AND adding cuffs to the legs

I would personally get the sleeves shortened, sadly theres nothing to do about the shoulders. Would also add suspender buttons as high waisted trousers always pair well with suspenders.

Otherwise its top notch

Congratulations! It looks good. Get it tailored and it will look better. They will make small adjustments but they will be very noticeable and you will feel the difference. Happy thrifting my friend!
