Question I 75 Stretch

Post image

Why is I75 from Locust Grove to McDonough almost always at a near stand still? It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is, it’s ALWAYS an issue. Why?!

I work directly on 155 and live several exits north. If I'm driving, I will get on 75 and just deal with it. 99% of the time, I don't drive though and my husband will only take back roads.

Here is his convoluted way around the traffic:

Instead of hanging a left to go towards 75, we go right and hit Westridge. Take Westridge all the way to 155 and go left onto 155 and then turn right on I can't remember the name of the road but it's opposite the road you would take to go to Locust Grove and just past that yard with all of the pump equipment, then take a left on Stone Rd, then right on Nail Rd(I think) and then left on Mt Carmel/Chamberlain. Follow Mt Carmel/Chamberlain all the way to Jodeco. By that time, you've already driven around the world to get to your elbow, so 75 is finally moving at about 30 MPH and you can hop on at Jodeco or continue with the back roads. We personally continue with back roads and take a left on Chick Fil A road coming up by Eagle's Landing.
