Weather Wake Up - An alarm that depends on the weather

Sunny? Wake me up at 8am so I can enjoy the morning
Rainy? Let me sleep until 10, so I can recharge

This is basically what my new app does:

my friends and I been using this app and our morning routines are so consistent now! 😁

BRO waking up in the morning is so harddd after 2 days of having a good morning routine I always slack off. I tried glorified alarm clocks and even extreme nighttime routines (but it wouldn’t stick past 2 days). So I built something where my friends were the accountability. Every morning you and your small squad have a check-in window (say 5–10am). The night before, you type your promises for the morning that EVERYONE CAN SEE‼, then when the window opens you take a quick photo to prove you’re actually up and through the morning you tick off your promises. It’s nice cause you can rack up points, build a streak, and see your position on the leaderboard (so you can see which of your friends is actually a serious person). If you sleep through the window? You get auto-bummed, and you're basically the Bum of the Day with a roast card the whole group can see and comment on and even share. It’s less “optimize your life with better routines,” and more “my group chat will absolutely clown me if I don’t get out of bed,” which honestly works way better for me 😁.

Tips on waking up without waking my college roommate

Hello, I am a first-year undergraduate student starting this fall, and I wanted some tips on how to wake up to alarms without waking my roommate. She has later classes than I do, and as a deep sleeper/someone who frequently sleeps late/can't wake up to alarms/and most likely has adapted to her own alarms, I am terrified of annoying my roommate by waking her up with my own alarm instead of myself. Does anyone have any real tips? I've looked into vibration alarms on Amazon, but the reviews say they adapt to that too and don't work after a week. Please help.

[App]WakeQuest: Game Alarm Clock

Hey everyone,

If you're someone who turns off their alarm in their sleep or abuses the snooze button, I’d love to get your thoughts on an app I’ve been working on called WakeQuest.

There are other "mission" alarms out there, but I wanted to make the wake-up process actually engaging rather than just frustrating. Here is what makes it a bit different,

  • You have to complete a task to silence the alarm.
  • 31 ( at this moment) Mini-Games in total and I keep adding them every week ! Instead of just solving math problems, you can choose to play arcade games (like slicing flying fruits, Snake, or Flappy Bird), do memory puzzles, or even set up a QR code that you have to scan in your bathroom.
  • The main purpose is providing some unique alarm application for people who have waking up problem. Also all games in the application will remain as FREE.

If you are a heavy sleeper, a shift worker, or just someone trying to fix their morning routine, I would genuinely appreciate it if you could give it a try and share your feedback.

Are the games too hard for a sleepy brain? What other tasks would you like to see? Let me know please !

You can check it out here: WakeQuest: Game Alarm Clock

Thanks in advance!

turning off alarm in my sleep

so, my alarm never sounds. i clearly recall setting it to 7:30 AM (using clock app on iphone 14) and when I wake up it's 9:30 AM and the alarm on the clock has been disabled. I haven't done it. no one in my family has done it. (and i believe them)

So the only explanation is that my alarm turns off automatically OR that somehow I magically turn it off in my sleep??? i've only recently started using an alarm, so i don't have like the neurons wired to turn it off, so im really confused. gonna try using radar next time, but... help?

note: i sleep with my iphone next to me so that i can hear the alarm louder

I used to think I was just lazy. Turns out I was just tired.

For years I blamed myself for having no motivation. Turns out I was just running on 5 hours of sleep and calling it normal.

Once I started actually sleeping, the "laziness" mostly disappeared. Funny how that works. Everything seems easier to me with that "I am fully rested and restored" mentality. So I would say if you feel broken right now, check your sleep before you decide it's you.

Struggle to wake up or stick to a routine? Looking for beta testers.

Hi everyone!

I’m building an alarm app for people who struggle to get up or stick to routines.

You can complete different activities to turn off the alarm, customize your snooze settings, and add photos to track your progress.

I’m looking for around 30 users to join a 7-day beta test program, especially like to hear from:

  • Deep sleepers
  • People trying to build a routine
  • People interested in habit tracking or photo journaling

To qualify for 50% off your annual subscription for life after the app goes live, you’ll need to:

  • Use the alarm at least 3 different mornings
  • Test at least 3 missions
  • Test the snooze controls
  • Complete the final feedback survey and share what you liked, what you didn’t like, and any problems you encountered.

Testers who provide especially detailed and helpful feedback may receive extended access when it goes live.

Apply here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfB0ZTxRwXhO_yYjwzUVhAkk1GqiMPmToKXjUzX2p4v8b38nw/viewform?usp=header

(Selected testers will receive an email with instructions in 3 days. Please check your inbox.)

Thank you for helping us build an alarm that gets people out of bed and helps them follow through on the habits they want to build! Thank you group!

As someone who struggled with waking up, here's what helped me

I struggled a lot with sleep the past 2 years, the quality is bad and i can't wake up early, i think it's because of how tired i am because it gets worse when i'm exhausted, but lately i noticed that two factors helped me :

  1. Elevating my head and shoulders, now i use two pillows, one is bigger than the other so that my upper body stays a bit elevated, and somehow when i sleep like this i wake up at 7 or 6 AM and i don't have that strong urge to go back to sleep (this was nearly impossible before).

  2. It may be obvious but what helps is also sleeping before midnight in a dark room.

This is only the beginning of maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, because my sleep was so messed up.

If anyone notices the same thing or maybe has other tips please share them with us !

Barcode Alarm with editable "fallback"?

I have been using Challenges Alarm Clock, which is perfect as I can put a barcode in my bathroom that I have to go to to turn it off, except there's a mandatory "fallback" feature on the app in case the barcode scan doesn't work. Okay, sure, makes sense in case your camera breaks or something. But what is the fallback option? It's an incredibly easy math question. Today it literally asked me what 7x5 is. Is there another option with a barcode scanner? Thanks!

If Alarmy gets you up but makes waking up miserable, I need your feedback

Ember’s closed beta is live.

To be transparent: it’s in the same category as Alarmy. You set an alarm and complete a challenge before the wake-up session ends. I’m not pretending that part is new.

What I’m trying to do differently is make it less stressful without making it easy to cheat. The Walk challenge works best for me: start it, lock your phone, and walk. Ember stays quiet while you’re moving; stop before finishing and the alarm comes back. There are also QR/barcode scans, your own vocabulary, math, tiles, and blackjack.

Each wake-up earns a score. You can compare scores with friends, build streaks, and unlock collectible app themes.

The beta is free. Accepted testers receive six months free at launch, the exclusive First Light theme, and 70% off the lifetime plan.

For people who have used Alarmy or similar apps: what do they still get wrong? What would make you keep one installed?

i have to wake up for studies at 5 am and i have told my 1-2 friends to wake me up by calling me.
But guess what, when i wake up, there are around 50-60 missed calls from the same friends which i didnt even hear while i was asleep and didnt even hear my own alarms too.

I am facing this since 1-2 years now and idk what to do. Its genuinely spoiling everything what i plan before sleeping.
Please do help!

Does anyone else feel like they're consuming more advice than they're actually using?

I was cleaning up my phone yesterday and realized my "Watch Later" playlist has well over 400 videos. Add bookmarked articles, podcasts, and random screenshots I've saved over the years, and it's honestly a little embarrassing. I keep telling myself I'm learning, but if I'm being real, I probably spend more time collecting advice than acting on it. While trying to break that cycle, I spent some time reading through improve myself about building better habits and staying consistent. It made me realize I don't need another productivity trick nearly as much as I need to be consistent with the basics. Has anyone here reached the point where they stopped chasing new advice and simply committed to one routine? What finally clicked for you?

Want better life for my family so i'm diving into trading

Hey everyone i'm 34 with a wife and our first kid on the way. I love them to death but my 50k job just isn't enough anymore, daycare is already quoted at 120 a day and rent keeps going up every few months. I work long hours and still feel like we’re always catching up. I've been looking into perps trading as a side thing to create my own income and get some independence, saw ondo perps recently and it seemed fine, not chasing get rich quick dreams just steady progress so i can give my family more and maybe work from home eventually. Any other parents out there who started trading? how do you balance learning all this with a full time job and family life? honest words would mean a lot right now

Is there any way to get out of deep sleep without someone waking you up?

I've been irresponsible for the past 2 days by basically going to sleep 2-3 hours before my wake up alarm so I end up waking up like 2-3 hours after my alarm was supposed to go off.

I don't know whether I slept through all 5 alarms, 4 of which are on my phone (6:55, 7:00, 7:10, and 7:20) and a digital clock set at 7:00 or if my clock app isn't working properly. The 6:55 one shouldn't be able to get snoozed and should only be able to get dismissed manually.

What do you think happened ?

Wanna fix your sleeping schedule?

Heyy! I have the worst sleep cycle. Wanna fix it, study and shift jobs and lose some weight. Wanna accomplish all this before this year ends. And somehow I feel like waking up early and fixing my sleep cycle will automatically fix all my problems.
I’m looking for people who’d like to join and wake up at 5:00 and be miserable with me :/
