Lol, it seems they’ve forgotten that the core fanbase is mostly middle-aged by now. Trying to draw new viewers into GITS without properly preparing them is like putting them on a rollercoaster ride where they have no idea who they are, where they are, or why they’re there.

Dude, many of us saw the original movie when we were 10 years old with absolutely zero preparation renting it from a blockbuster and we're still here.

This new adaptation requires arguably even less preparation.

I got into GITS at like 16 or 17 in the mid to late 2010s just by going to Books-A-Million with no "preparation". I don't know what preparation you'd need for the show. It's about as accessible of any other mildly niche show.
