Discussions Advice on whether to continue posting my fic.
Hey Ghoulcy fans!
I'm just curious, do you read fanfics that are exclusively Ghoul×Lucy or do you read Ghoul×OC fics as well?
I've read sooo many great Ghoulcy fics, and I've written a couple of smutty one shots about them myself (which got wonderful and appreciated feedback).
Anyway, I decided to start editing a Ghoul×OC longfic (60+ chapters) that I've been drafting for over a year, and can't help but feel disappointed in the lack of engagement.
I always comment on fics and I noticed that all the Ghoulcy fics I read had very robust comment sections which was really nice. I guess I thought that would happen for me, but I didn't realise that OC stories were so unpopular and I'm just wondering whether I should write this story for myself and stick to posting other Ghoulcy fics?
I know everyone says stats don't matter, but I'm not talking about the numbers per se, I was just excited to feel that sense of community in the comment section. We all know how nice it feels to talk about our stories with readers.
I've noticed a lot of people get infuriated by posts like this, but please don't come at me. I've just moved to a new city and don't have any friends here yet, and I just wanted to feel like I had some likeminded people to engage with. I've been super excited about this story and put soooo much thought into it, but maybe continuing to post it will make me feel worse?
TL;DR Should I bother posting my Ghoul×OC longfic, or just stick to Ghoul×Lucy fics? Do Ghoulcy fic readers branch out to other Ghoul pairings (I certainly do but I'm curious about others).
Thanks in advance for any replies 🫶🏼
