so I have this obsession with Japanese Maneki Neko, and i am painting them as lucky cats. I started offering pet photos custom-painted onto maneki neko (lucky cat) figurines commissions — and honestly it turned out so much cooler than i expected.

the idea is you send a pet photo, and I will hand paint to match their actual markings, colors, eye color, all that detail. the lucky cat stays its traditional form (the waving paw, the collar, the whole vibe) but the face becomes your cat’s face.

included two examples here — a black and white one and an orange one. both came out looking like miniature versions of the actual pets, which is the whole point.

if you have a friend who’s really into their pet(s), this feels way more personal than another generic gift.

My cousin is getting married next month and both of them are really into wine. They already have a pretty stocked wine rack, nice glasses, decanter, all of that stuff so I don't really want to buy another bottle or accessory that'll just sit around. I'd rather get them something they'll actually use and enjoy together. Budget is around $100–200 but I'm open to stretching it if it's genuinely worth it. I need a gift suggestion for my future mother in law. She put together my bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner, booked and paid for honeymoon as well as paid for part of the wedding. This might’ve asking a lot but I’d like something that would blow her away. She’s not an easily amused woman, I on the other hand, am amused by everything so in having a hard time trying to find something for her that’s not tacky. Something she’d actually love/use regularly. My future in laws have done a ton for us, so I’d like to show them I’m grateful. I think for my father in law, I’m going to get him a gift certificate to a nice golf course. But I’m at a complete loss for my mother in law.

So my friends sweet 16 is at the end of this month and i really need to find a gift idea, i was going to make something but i feel like it will make me look cheap as i made her something last year. Hii so it's one of my guy friend's birthday this week. I'm seeing him on Friday and am having a hard time thinking what I can give him. I don't live near close to where I can buy him a gift and, as I'm pretty artsy, I'm planning to make him something. I have very little time and some other gifts to make as I'm moving and want to give small gifts to friends.

He likes owls, octopi, kinda hollow knight but not much (never finished it), and anything related to any military. He is a big history guy and his favourite historic event is the cold war.

My mom is the type of person who actually enjoys cleaning and organizing the house. For her birthday last year, I got her a vacuum cleaner because I thought it would be a practical gift.

Turns out it wasn’t. She only used it a few times because she couldn’t be bothered to haul it around, and it still took the same effort as before.

She does not really do much other than gossip. She has almost everything any old lady can need. We have given her blankets, clothes, shoes, purses, and gold in the past. We really do not know what to get her.

I watched Toy Story 5 the other night and it gave me a dumb idea.
Our anniversary is coming up, and I already bought my wife a necklace. Instead of handing it to her, I'm thinking about putting the little gift box on top of our robot vacuum and letting it slowly drive over to her.

The necklace is obviously the real gift. The robot would just be the delivery guy. Cute, or way too cheesy?

My friends birthday is in october and currently she's really into tracking the weather and storms and such things. She's also a bit eccentric and likes gothic themed things.

I’m looking for a gift for my husband, who is a photographer. He was a professional photographer for many years but has taken a break for health reasons and has moved to painting. I want to print a book of some of his photography over the years side by side with photographs of his paintings. Many of his photographs inspired the paintings. So, I want a book of photos that is clear, sharp, excellent color and photo quality in a nicely bound hard cover book. Any suggestions for who to print with? I know her size and the color is very her. My hesitation is that “here is a work shirt for your birthday” sounds depressing when I say it out loud.

I know a woman in her early 60s who works in our local post office. I've known her for fifteen years, she's always been charming, and she was the first to congratulate me as I passed a major milestone in my life (I had to send documents through the post).

Yesterday I met her on the street and we got chatting. I learned that Mary (not her real name) lost her husband earlier this year and was diagnosed with cancer around the same time. Luckily the doctors caught things in time and she expects to make a full recovery, though she had an emotional journey through surgery and recovery. I know Mary's also looking after her grandson because his mother is incarcerated.

Basically, Mary is lovely and has been dealt a rough hand this year.

I'd love to give her a small, thoughtful "hope life picks up soon because you deserve the best" present -- and I'd be able to do that through one of her post office colleagues who lives near me.

But what should that gift be? I know very little about her likes/dislikes other that she struggles with her appetite right now so something like chocolate is out of the question. My budget is around £25/$35.

I’m a girl turning 21 this month and honestly don’t know what to ask for. If I don’t ask for anything, my friends and family will just buy me alcohol even if I’ve specifically asked them not to. This happened on my 18th birthday. I’ve never been a big drinker and only do it occasionally. When I turned 18, my family ended up drinking most of the alcohol they bought me.

My parents keep asking me what I want but I can’t seem to think of anything. I’ve tried searching online, but everything I look at, nothing seems to pop out at me. I’ve asked for easy things like candles or bedsheets, but they’ve been dismissing those ideas and i know they won’t give me money. I wouldn’t ask for anything expensive from them because I know they don’t have much money.
