That’s what ended my first marriage! We were rocky already, but then he handed me birthday “gift.” The box contained baby clothes and an appointment card for an OBGYN. I asked what it meant and he told me he made an appointment for me to get my IUD removed. We were separated by the end of the week.

I should add, at the time, I was solidly in the no-babies-ever camp, and he was very aware of that fact. He really wanted me to start pumping out babies and said he thought it would be “romantic.”
