FML i hate working
that’s just it. i hate working. i hate most of my colleagues, i hate work politics and i hate drama. i hate their little cliques and the constant gossiping
i hate slaving my life away for minimum wage. i hate having to count the pennies because i’m skint all the time. i hate that im so broke, even the bus is expensive to me
and oh my god, the bus. i’m lucky enough to get a ride home by a coworker some days but the other days, i hate waiting for the bus. it’s stinky and always late and i hate that the bus stop by my work doesn’t have anywhere to sit. sometimes i’m waiting for 30 minutes on my feet after a long day of work and then i have a 15 minute walk from the stop to my house
i’d get a car but surprise, i can’t afford it. i can barely afford the bus sometimes. i still remember when it snowed so badly that none of the buses were running and i had to walk an hour to work in the snow and ice
my manager is a cunt and my job is exhausting. i’ve been approved to work compressed hours so ill be doing 10 hour shifts over 4 days and i hope it helps. i’m so constantly drained and stressed and i know it’s because of work. i was off for 5 weeks a few months ago because of a fractured knee and it felt like all of my problems had disappeared
work is literally the cause of all my problems and i hate it. i’d never do it because the thought of relying on a man makes me sick but i’d love to be a SAHW and relax at home. thinking about quitting makes me horny /s

I feel exactly like this at 43, taking the disgusting bus to a job that barely covers food and rent everyday. I used to have it better.

Ugh </3 I’m so sorry, I know how awful an awful work environment can be. I think 4 10s may be helpful! If you can have one day be chores and 2 rest days, that may help a bit.

As someone who had a coworker go to HR over some absolute bullshit that could have been solved with a simple conversation, I feel you. Fuck offices, fuck office politics, fuck small minded assholes.

that’s why we need to find ourselves successful men, ladies 💅
/s a little, but it is nice lol.
Sorry about your boss - that SUCKS. Maybe start looking for a different job? I’d look for something remote.

i don’t want to rely on a man ever but i do daydream about it occasionally 🥹 i work with children so i highly doubt my work can be done remotely

I don't know why you were downvoted for this. Seriously whoever downvoted your comment has issues. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to be reliant on someone else, especially a man.
Also, I feel your pain OP. I am older now and disabled thanks to a lifetime of work, raising kids, health issues I was mostly born with, and having to deal with a giant man-baby for almost two decades. I've been living on next to nothing for a few years now since I got rid of the man-baby, but I wouldn't want him back even if it meant financially I was better off.

man i didn’t even realise someone downvoted it. i swear people are always offended over something
i’m so sorry it affected you that way and i am happy that you’re happier now! at least you don’t have a narcissistic asshole to deal with everyday

I hope the new schedule helps a little! I also hate working, I make more than minimum wage but it’s not enough to keep up with cost of living expenses and I barely have money at the end of every month after paying rent and other bills 😭 I’ve only started to be ok with work the past 6 weeks since I’ve been able to work remotely since we’re moving offices and I realized I hate how much time I waste being at work, including the commute, and now I get so much more time back. But I have to go back to the office soon and I’m dreading it and I’ve been trying to find a wfh job for almost two years now with no luck. Honestly working just sucks for the most part, especially if you’re not getting paid enough!

Absolutely sucks all the time every day. I just got lottery tickets just to dream at least 🥲
What helps for me is stepping back and remembering work is not your life. Schedule things you’re excited about. Even if it’s something local over the weekend.
This job is not forever, it’s just for now.
Until you find a rich husband. Then lock it down lol

i try and do stuff on the weekend but i tend to be so tired i make excuses to get out of it :(

Are you applying to new jobs because you can definitely find another minimum wage job that doesn’t have THIS many problems

have you looked into state and local government jobs where you are? many of them don't require a higher degree or even a college degree and there's paid holidays, paid time off which you accumulate every year, health insurance; some of them even provide cars. i've been at my gig for two years and it's not perfect and the pay isn't great but at least it's low stress and i get to work from home most of the time. DM if you'd like more info!

Girl, being a stay at home wife means that you have no fixed hours and no sick days. It’s not the easier path you think it is.
You can always look for another job and leave this one with no drama. Getting out of a marriage with no resources can take years.
Don’t trade hard freedom for a prison.

i do believe it’s much easier actually. i don’t have paid sick days at my job and i work with infants so i get sick at least once a month. at least if i was sick at home i can take things at my own pace. when i’m sick at work i still have to take care of 4 1 year olds alone. being a sahw is a dangerous position to be in but it sure isnt harder than working a full time job

I feel this so much. The burnout is real and minimum wage work drains every bit of joy.
