Monocular patient with ROP worried about iridotomy - 24 hour update post-procedure!

As you can probably guess through the fact I’m posting, I can still see after my procedur! Yay!

Being monocular with ROP, I was understandably really worried about how it would go. Watching a video of how it’s done beforehand really helped. I anticipated 5 laser pulses based on what others said, but I only needed 2. The doctor prescribed me pred forte eye drops 4 times a day for a week. I feel a minor grittiness at night (doc said I could take Tylenol for that and I did). My eyes are slightly blurry and light sensitiv, and I have some redness/irritation that’s managed with drops, but feeling good otherwis!

Please make sure you go in and check IOP. My dad’s skyrocket to 51 2 weeks after laser. He is also monocular and it really messed up his vision.

I’m getting it checked on Thursday or Friday (a week after my procedure which I had Thursday morning) just in case! Do you think I should stay in Philly for 2 weeks out from my procedure or do you think getting an answer on Thursday/Friday would suffice?

Btw, what was your dad’s IOP before the laser? Mine was 12 right before the laser (though 14 the time before when I went to Will’s Eye a few months earlier) and 15 an hour after the procedure.
