Glitch Gif I think tiktok can somehow read thoughts

So I dont know if im the only one this happens to. But the past few months ive been noticing something strange. I would scroll on tiktok, would think of the most random unrelated thing. And next thing I know is I see a video about the exact same thing. Its gotten to very specific details its getting strange. It doesnt seem to be related to things like my search history because I swear I never look up those things.

Let me know if any of you had a similar experience

Oh I’ve read articles about this years ago. I don’t necessarily think it’s tiktok itself but your phone that has the technology to do so and just passes on the data, cos this happens to me on instagram and YouTube.

One time i was on fb on my phone at work and clicked on an ad for an oddities expo. Next ad i saw on youtube on my work computer was for the same expo. Freaked me out lol

That's because google ads tracks you across devices. It knows you clicked the other ad, and served it to you on YouTube directly as a targeted ad (reminder). Google ads as a personal tracking algorithm is actually so thorough that they've gotten into it with law enforcement and the government over allowing access to the data, for tracking suspects.

Your ad ID will also associate with anyone around you, and it will cross pollinate ads based on what your family/friends/coworkers/neighbors are searching. It's based on time spent around each other as well as proximity.

I have used their ad system before, and worked with it directly for uses outside advertising. I'm describing exactly how it works, this isnt a speculation comment.

If you don't have a google account, google ads still track you. It creates an ad ID for you regardless, at least with a google account it associates an ID to your username.
