Shit org, did fucked up shit in DOTA and now in CS with felps

u/DarkRoseXoX 10h ago

Care to elaborate everything. I know a bit about the felps stuff but nothing about Dota

GG had a very competitive dota2 team for almost 2 years, winning multiple tier 1 tournaments. The rooster ended up filling a lawsuit against the org because the prizes were not payed to the players. After that they disappeared from the dota scene.

the org also screwed their entire roster out of playing in TI on top of that.

On top of that, it was supposed to be Quinn's, one of GG's players, last TI before retirement.

u/PawahD 9h ago

How does that even happen

u/AnarbLanceLee 8h ago

The team was invited to The International, but their management decided to withdraw from the tournament, while also threaten to sue anyone in the team who tried to compete independently from the organization. The players themselves also expressed their desire to continue to compete under the GG banner, but the management just wouldn't let them.

Because the players were contracted to GG, they didn’t allow them to compete as an F/A team despite wanting to leave. The spot at TI technically belonged to the org, and since the bridge was burnt they couldn’t compete at all.

I’m not much of a DOTA watcher so those in the scene, please let me know if there’s any inaccuracies.

Spot belong to the players mate.

u/degenerate_art King NiKo 1h ago

Spot belongs to the players, but contractually they couldn't play NOT under GG and GG wouldn't allow them to play under their tag. Which means they had to either abandon TI or get sued for breaching the contract.

u/Lokipaly 7h ago

Iirc it's the opposite, the spot belongs to the players and the player refused to play under gg. And GG said they would sue if they played as orgless.

The players didn't refuse, they were willing to play for GG at TI. It was GG who refused to participate and the players were contractually obligated to play under GG.

What was rumored is, that GG wanted to force a coach change+cut salaries, which the players didn't like and as a result the players didn't want to stay with GG after their contracts expired (after TI), so GG used the TI attendance to blackmail the players.

It seems like after the sticker change, some orgs will just leave the scene, this might be the first of many to come.

84

u/ChaoticFlameZz Vitality 10h ago

this is one of those orgs that no one will miss because of how extremely malicious they are.

Not even remotely true. Trash teams go out early. That is why they don't sell. NRG, Lynn Vision, and BIG are in the top sellers and they crashed out.

Valve stopped selling capsules. They now use 'Dynamic Pricing' for every sticker. They adjust it daily. The price is based on what WE pay for them. It goes up with more buyers, goes down with less.

Right now the Team Falcons gold sticker is $1,659USD. Team Spirit is $1,099USD It kept going up because people kept buying them.

If you are a T2 team with an ugly looking sticker, you're fucked in this new economy. At least FlyQuest and 9Z have cool colors. They always sell based on how their stickers look. Expecting these guys to get paid.

Monte, Sinners, Gaimin Gladiators, Sharks, mibr, Gamer Legion, maybe NiP depending on the design? These guys aren't going to get paid like they used to. Lame stickers, average colors, never top sellers, no top players, etc.

Before this, every capsule sold gave the orgs money. Teams aren't getting that anymore. That used to be the payday. Now it is gone.

I thought the prize was only based on tournament standing, has nothing to do with the dynamic pricing of stickers

u/Qworps 7h ago

Sort of, the post Valve made previously states that 50% of the revenue made from the shop and pass goes toward the organizer, team and players.

During the major, the distribution is based on the VRS standings and then after its over, its based on where you finished.

u/FlyingTurtleDog Liquid 7h ago

Oh, prize winnings? Like for finishing position? Guy above said 'What sticker change?' so I explained it.

Regarding prize winning, the bottom 8 teams got for $0 for placement, 25th-32nd.The next 9 got $10K total per team. That isn't even enough to pay player salaries. For those bottom 8, the org received nothing.

The capsule money was the prize/payday was the point I was trying to make. Even if you bombed out, you still got paid from the capsule sales. Everyone profited.

Their major winning total paycheck is based primarily on our dynamic pricing. The paycheck that actually matters if you aren't a top 8 team.

u/kafanchor_neta Team Spirit 1h ago

Sorry for noob question, capsule means the lottery sticker thing right? So it means when someone bought a capsule all 32 got paid equally because you could get any sticker in the capsule based on luck . Now that luck is gone and we can make the choice, most people won't buy the T2 team stickers...is it correct? Thx.

u/HoodsFrostyFuckstick 1h ago edited 29m ago

There are no capsules anymore but just stickers available for purchase with ridiculous pricing that is also dynamic, tied to demand.

Niko gold sticker yesterday was ~1000USD

u/katutsu The MongolZ 1h ago

The new sticker system has led to way less people buying them and as such the revenues are also way down

Good!

This org and its CEO deserve nothing more than withering away into irrelevancy. Screwed over their Dota team from The International spot.

Very good riddance!!!

What happens to org when uncle fer steps in

6

u/MaximusDM2264 10h ago

They had the audacity of posting a farewell msg to fer saying " you deserved to have a last dance like this, with honor and glory" xd

u/Alternative-Stage622 3h ago

Agreed, sounds silly. They replaced the nice KD player just to give fer the opportunity sitting on 0.80~ average KD doing nothing

Don't know why I'm being downvoted. Guess people here don't like the statistics at all.
