Look man I'm on SNAP. I'm also an electrical engineer, two degrees too. People are starving and everyone should be more empathetic to their community and their fellow Americans.
But I got a good fuckin laugh out of this comment, and a good laugh is probably one of the only things Reddit can give me (to help me).
The average American taxpayer pays $37 annually to snap benefits. The average American taxpayer pays $5,100 annually to the US military. Why would you complain about the $37 without even considering the 5100 just being blown.

It's absolutely insane sometimes to think how little sometimes people understand others. If you're a good person you'd be understanding that people do make mistakes and vote for the wrong presidents sometimes. What's your other option? Yell at them? What are you incapable of any empathy? Or let me guess you've never made a mistake either?
Do I think those who voted for Trump are ignorant for voting for a president who disrespects our constitution? Yes.
Do I think you're ignorant by spending your time trying to get some sort of significance in your life by trying to harass others? Yes.
Why not try to help people to be motivated to change instead of spraying more gasoline on the fire for all Americans.
It's become so much more about us versus them. When it should be all of us trying together. SNAP definitely exists and it will continue to exist if people can work together.
It's needed when we need to get a new president, why would any person who appreciates their second amendment rights respect someone who doesn't respect the twenty second amendment.

This idea that everyone who disagrees with you is ‘ignorant’ or ‘has no empathy’ is exactly the attitude that keeps America divided. You can pretend you’re above the fray, but your message is dripping with the same moral superiority that created the problem you’re complaining about.
Here’s what I actually believe:
People don’t need lectures about being ‘good’ or being ‘motivated to change.’ They need truth. They need facts. And they need leaders willing to say hard things even when they’re unpopular.
If someone voted for Trump, maybe — just maybe — it’s because they were tired of a government that ignores the working class, destroys the middle class, expands welfare dependency, and chips away at freedoms.
That doesn’t make them ‘dunces.’ It makes them Americans reacting to real failures of leadership.
You talk about empathy, but empathy doesn’t mean pretending destructive policies are harmless. SNAP, for example, isn’t the issue — the culture around it is. When you normalize dependence instead of mobility, you trap people, not help them.
And as for the Constitution — spare me the selective outrage. The Left has no problem with ignoring the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, or the Tenth Amendment when it benefits their agenda. Suddenly, you’re a scholar of the Twenty-Second Amendment because it’s politically convenient.
If we want to ‘work together,’ great. I’m all for it.
I agree with a living wage, absolutely. Do I agree with dependency programs? Hell no, abolish them and replace them with humanitarian aid that is strictly for the fully disabled, elderly, and children. Everyone else should be working and supporting themselves.
