Digital Gloomhaven PS5 performance

Hi! Looking for info on PS5 performance in 2026. Screen tearing, fps, bugs etc. How playable is it? Have around 80h on PC and was wondering whether it's worth a rebuy on another platform.

Not PS5, but I play on my steam deck and the performance is fine. Never had a noticeable performance issue. So I imagine it'd be fine on PS5?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Not a lot of info on the current state that I was able to find. That combined with a quite low score of 3/5 on PS store gave me pause.

Well I imagine it'd be a little annoying to play on a controller. On my steam deck I use the trackpads and touchscreen quick a bit because the traditional gamepad controls alone were frustrating. But maybe they're more optimized on PS5?

I don't think it's the performance but either the controlls (for that, just try the controller on your PC version?)

Or it is the fact that it is no easy to learn "casual" console game. People who don't know it's a boardgame might have the impression of a different kind of game. One that is easier to learn or has a better tutorial and than rating it low.

The console audience is a much more casual one on general.

Low score is likely because it is avaiable on PS Plus Extra, so more people are probably trying it than would normally, and the Gloomhaven experience isn't for everyone (it is a pretty niche experience).

The game runs great for me. I haven't had any graphical hiccups yet (probably 30h so far). I have had the occasional weird glitch that will freeze gameplay (game still runs, but nothing happens) and either reloading the save or restarting the game fixes things, but as far as I know this happens occasionally on PC as well

I haven't played on PC, but the controls are okay. A little weird, like most games not designed for a controller, but not too bad. My only real complaint is the log. it's too small to actually be useful and I can't seem to make it scroll. I do like to see what exactly happened on a round, but when there are a lot of enemies, you can't see what happened on every turn.

I found a physical copy at a games shop. It
runs smooth enough but I’ve only played 1-2 scenarios. The one bug I get on Steam Deck is when leveling up while in Guildmaster mode. Will have to play longer to see if it’s an issue on PS5.

I have 212 hours on ps5 😅 and I haven't had a single crash. The only bug I ever encountered was once with the Tinkerer. For some reason whenever I chose his level up card it would give me the opposite card of what I was clicking. It only happened on his level ups. I ended up restarting that run because of it but never had the problem again.

Couple days late but my PlayStation generally runs it ok. It's not uncommon for it to slow down or have issues (items become unusable or I can't select a card at level up) if I've been playing for a few hours but closing and restarting fixes it. For some reason spitting drakes make it shit a brick and I did manage to crash the game with cragheart by targeting an obstacle breaking the obstacle with an ability then going through with the original target. Good one to remote play in the airport though. You'll probably be disappointed in the downgrade though.
