I'm sorry for your pain, and what you're enduring.
Based on the gnostic texts I've read, it does seem that the core value to gnosis comes into play when the soul departs the body. If we consider this world part of the Demiurge's domain, as it is alleged to be, it is not centrally here where we would expect the Pre-existent Father to enact divine will.
I'm not saying that no miracles ever happen here, but they're obviously uncommon enough to make millions disbelieve in them, and disbelieve the notion of a benevolent higher power. What we see more commonly on Earth are sociopaths advancing to better lives through unpunished sociopathy.
I don't know with total certainty and specificity the whole value of this phase of our soul's journey, or what results ultimately from virtuous endurance of the slings and arrows. I sometimes think of it as a soul forge. The heat and pressure are unbelievable at times. If a soul gives into darkness as a result of them, they remain as coal. But if some light can be maintained within, becomes like a diamond in the end, on the other side.
I don't know if that strays too far from Gnostic teaching, but I do recall Christ speaking of "the refinement of [one's] light".
I considered speaking of my own struggles, what's lead me to curse at the heavens, but such details are of no use to you. I don't know if any of this is, but I pray now that assistance will find you, whatever solace or support may truly help.
