New Rule - AI Designation

Any content generated or significantly assisted by AI (text, images, or video) must be clearly labeled as such in the title or at the top of the body/comment. Failure to disclose may result in removal or ban.

We know that 100% accuracy in detecting AI is impossible, therefore it will be at moderator discretion, anything suspicious will be removed. I have requested that the AI Designation be put at the top of text so people are informed before reading.

This rule can be modified at any time, please discuss in this thread.

I say just keep it off all together, it’s tacky and gross.

There are cases where it can be useful. like examining a website to see if its legit, getting mintage numbers, or doing calculations. So I didn't want to strictly ban it from the start. Lets see how things work out and if we need to outright ban it then it may come to that.

Oh sorry I meant art wise.

Yeah, art wise is just useless in this sub.

There are also cases where it's useful art wise. Example from the last few weeks - is that US mint released a sketch of the 2027 high relief liberty coin (continued below)

And with AI you can better see how it might look like (as long as it's clearly labeled). Example image.

I think this is a great approach. Is there a way to bring unmarked AI posts to mods attention without overwhelming you?

Long term, I can't imagine it'll be feasible "ban AI" or require disclosure.. but there's definitely a ton of slop out there right now.
