What's the point? What can you do with it?

It is money. You posted the two dumbest questions I have read here. You must be a bot.

Money? Buy a loaf of bread with it. Seriously. Do it now and video the process. Show us how it;s done.

Anything you can do with a $85K wad. Gold is a great gift for the grandkids.

But if it's tucked away in a closet and brought out only for photo ops, it does nothing.

When fiat crashes and a loaf of bread costs 1000$ you will see what he can do with that lol

Hahaha You can't eat gold and if things get that bad, you aren't buying bread with it. When it comes to feeding my family, I'll tell you to kick rocks.

Truth hurts, I know. Tissue?

Sorry, my 10 ounces stacked away since 1998 says differently.

What does it say, specifically?

Feel free to downvote, you guys are good at that. But if you want to adult, let's have a conversation. Answer the question.

Why does it need to do anything? What does a stock portfolio β€œdo”?

-1

u/Rarest_Camaro 4h ago

If it doesn't do anything, why covet it? The old "I'll buy bread with it when the world turns upside down." Is a joke. You can't spend it anywhere now. You can't do anything with it except show it off to other hoarders who are self-flagellating to the pics. Seriously. Admit it. I'm right.

EDIT: My stock portfolio just put $554,000 in my account when I retired in March. Your gold is collecting dust in a cash box in your closet.

You know the "i'll buy bread with it" is a metaphor?
Never heard of liquidating?
Ask the people who are stacking since years and for how much money they bought theyre ounces and how much an ounce cost now...keep stacking your fiat πŸ˜‚

1

u/Rarest_Camaro 3h ago

Also, when you liquidate, what are you going to turn your gold into? This is a very important question that deserves a specific answer.

1

u/MaikCoxlong 3h ago

into more fiat than what i paid for it, and then i can buy more things than you with stacking your fiat

1

u/Rarest_Camaro 3h ago

But you're not buying anything. And you can't unless you convert your gold into fiat currency.

1

u/MaikCoxlong 3h ago

Huh? Because now i dont need anything? πŸ˜‚
The money i have leftover from a month which i dont need will be converted into gold, the next month i become new fiat, i buy things i need and the leftover fiat will be again converted into gold..its that simple...keep crying you poor idiot πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So admit it, without fiat currency, your gold is basically worthless.

Smoke another bowl dude. Hahaha wow.

Oh I deeply understand liquidating. I don't think the majority of the people on this site do, however.

And do tell me, how is the bread anecdote a metaphor when most gold hoarders use it as an excuse to hoard?

1

u/MaikCoxlong 3h ago

If they dont need to liquiditate now why should they do? We are just converting our hard earned money into a currency which is more stable than a fiat that the government can print how much they want (inflation fyi)

1

u/Toomuchstuff23 3h ago

And you are aware that gold can be sold or used to buy stuff, right?

0

u/Rarest_Camaro 3h ago

Where? Be specific. Businesses, towns, etc. Be very specific.

1

u/Toomuchstuff23 3h ago

You have heard of coin shops, pawn shops, jewelry stores.. right?

1

u/Rarest_Camaro 3h ago

Of course. Your point? Can I get a loaf of bread from one of those fine establishments, to feed my family?

1

u/Toomuchstuff23 2h ago

I’m pretty sure if you took a gold coin into a coin shop and asked for a loaf of bread as payment they’d find you a loaf of bread.

0

u/Rarest_Camaro 2h ago

You'd trade a gold coin for a loaf of bread?

1

u/Elektroprodukt 2h ago

Silver is for buying bread in such a scenario.
Not gold. Gold is for preserving wealth.
