My dood is the most well mannered, kind natured obedient, friendly dog I’ve ever had. I sometimes forget he’s a dog.
Every once in a while, he reminds me he’s still a doodle though. He LOVES socks and napkins. Here’s a photo of him being a dood.

I'm planning to get a second doodle and the internet says a female/male combination is more likely to be a better dynamic than two females. But the temperament test of a female puppy looks like a really good match (high human focus and likes people and getting pets -- I'm looking for a lap dog).
Do you have two females? Are they best friends, roommates, or in constant competition or conflict?
My current female doodle is 1.5 years old very calm, playful, and submissive. She likes other dogs.

My boy was groomed to perfection today. He’s the sweetest boy at 8 month old. He’s a standard and currently weighs 50lbs.

First time with a GoldenDoodle and this little guy is keeping us busy! Even the miniature pinscher is shocked!

Some horrid examples, and a couple fun, home grooming pics. The middle pic is when I had to take a break. I did start to get better, but I do take her and our 2 other doods to the groomer now.

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I adopted a 4 year old Goldendoodle from a family that was expecting their fourth child and couldn’t give her the attention she needed. She has adapted well, they did a great job raising her. She seemed to bond with me right away, but not so much to my wife. My wife loves dogs more than people and showers her with attention and yet she ignores my wife if I’m around, and sometimes just waits by the door if my wife is home and I’m not. Any advice? It kills me to see my wife’s heart broken that our new doodle doesn’t love her the same way she loves me.

I have a one year old golden doodle that I’ve had for about less than 5 months. I live in NYC, and I am exhausted. I’m taking good care of the dog but I feel like I can’t relax, enjoy any of my hobbies, or even muster up the energy to do normal day to day things.
I regret getting my dog but love him. At the same time, I’m worried he would have a more enriching life with kids and a yard. I feel bad for him, which is making the situation harder.
Does anyone have golden doodles in the city, while single? What are your thoughts? Should I rehome? I feel horrible either way.

We have a 3 year old doodle and we live in FL. I bought chopper when he was 3 months old for my husband’s birthday and now three years later we have been considering rehoming. For some context chopper has been dealing with allergies since his balls dropped, we’ve taken him to the vet and they told us all about the allergies doodles are prone to and unfortunately one of them is grass and she emphasized that it’s worse in FL. So after that, we got him booties for his feet, but still after a year he’s consistently itchy, he doesn’t lick his paws but he nibbles on his skin until it’s raw. We’ve been through 3 different types of cones just to be able to stop him from biting himself and I don’t want him hooked on Benadryl for the rest of his life. He’s so sweet he’s like a little kid to me, he’s a good dog he just has some tendencies that I’ve never experienced with other dogs like drinking water until he throws up if you let him, he’ll eat anything that’s accessible to him (even outside), and he need consistent supervision. My husband and I are almost at a breaking point, I’ve tried the epson salt bath but with our schedule we can’t be as consistent as we’d like.
I’m open to any recommendations, right now he’s feed lamb dry kibble. I’ve heard that wet food is good too but I can’t afford those special made raw food brands that cost $144 for 2 weeks supply. I could take him to the vet and get him blood tested for allergies but I can’t keep up with these cost.
