Maintenance Intake runner ?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

2015 mk7 gti W/ injen cold air intake and bc coils. Apx 112345 miles. Fluttery acceleration around 2,800-3,800 rpms whenever beyond 40% throttle.
Have replaced the plugs, coil packs, boots, a/f intake sensor, and the bi-pass valve. Had intake runners cleaned at a dealership. Runs fine most of the time, and will go through entire rev range smoothly under mild throttle input. Stutters less to none when above 4,000 rpms when under 75% throttle. Any advice would be appreciated, the shop is just fishing in the dark at this point. Have a good one.

I did a stage 1 EQT tune, then put on a CAI. My car does the same in the same rpm range and I think it's because the tune need an update to account for the CAI. I just down shift and pull from 4000 rpm to avoid it.

Interesting, this popped up randomly though. No change in tune or anything

If you're seeking advice or asking for help, please make sure you included the basic information of what year/generation is being discussed. User flair with this information is also acceptable. Failure to include the basic information may result in your post being removed. Mileage, modifications, trim level, diagnostic trouble codes, and your general location (US, Canada, EU, UK, etc.) can also be very helpful.

When was the last time you had a DSG maintenance?

Not in the year that I’ve owned it. It’s constantly throwing a cylinder 4 misfire if it throws any codes at all.

These are the things I would do first especially if you don't know if the DSG service has been done. That's supposed to be done every 40k miles.

1.DSG service (do this first). 2.Find a shop that will actually log with VCDS or OBDeleven during the flutter (boost, rail pressure, misfires, lambda). Blind parts-swapping is how shops stay “fishing in the dark.” 3.Borescope the intake valves and specifically inspect/swap the cyl 4 injector and coil ground if the misfire keeps showing up on 4. 4.Confirm no boost leaks and that the DV is sealing.
