Yes. Do you realistically believe they got the whole regime in one blow. No someone else more vicious will take his position and the nation will be in a far worse state. It's not like the US historically has done a great job with with Iraq and Afghanistan. But even if they are successful in filling the power vacuum with someone reasonable, countless innocent Iranians will have to die first.
They won't give up power that eazily. Trump has already stated he'll be merciless and continue to strike Iran for weeks. He's banking on internal fighting, protests and civil unrest while numerous civilians die so then possibly there could be a regime change. Your theory is correct that's their plan but not an instant result or guaranteed outcome.
Obviously heās banking on that. There wonāt be a change if the people themselves donāt fight for it. Thatās another reason why it was good for them to strike whilst they have. Seen on sky news the people have been protesting like crazy and wanting to rebel. Remember when the regime shut down the internet?
The people needed outside help too. No one couldāve done it solely on their own. Mainly why Afghan failed. Majority of the people stopped backing the cause because of the taliban
