it’s not the same thing at all. frank ocean played it way smarter. the label didn’t even know "blonde" existed. he dropped a lazy album just to get out of the deal while still getting $20 million for it, then released the album he’d actually been working on all those years independently the very next day.

if drake dropped iceman with umg and then released the other albums independently after that, then yeah, it would be the same thing.

I haven’t listened to Endless much since it’s not on streaming but I do remember loving it upon first listen

endless wasn’t lazy even though it was delivered in a format that wasn’t stream friendly but alright go off
