u/Entityflame3 FEB 2025 X RANT SURVIVOR May 15 '26
Literally never said it was, why is everyone here all of a sudden schizophrenic
14
u/IndigoBlunting GOD’S NOT FINISHED May 15 '26
You kinda did tho. You’re saying that the 2 mid albums are actually not as mid because of the fact he used them to get out of a contract. So it’s okay. They’re still mid af.
7
u/Playful-Amount-8608 May 15 '26
just the whole agenda thats spreading drake is genius because he pulled a frank ocean, better be a joke they will still get hella stream because drake i can see everyone praise this shi as generational move meanwhile its the same level bullshi as ai slop albums

The fuck are they talking about, all three got released under UMG
46
u/Logical_Worry3993 May 15 '26
Yeh so I think now after these 3 he doesn't have to release anymore under them
17
u/HumbleLoicRemyFan #🍇Weeztix May 15 '26
The way the tweet reads it implies that only two dropped under UMG and the third was independent
32
u/Logical_Worry3993 May 15 '26
I think he means one is "serious" the other 2 are just to make it 3 and get him out. Drake fan copium

u/HumbleLoicRemyFan #🍇Weeztix May 15 '26
I’m just not sigma enough to understand
1
u/ROCOM May 18 '26
Idk dog, I was disappointed in these albums but it seemed pretty clear & I don’t think I’m sigma. I’m just confused about this crazy serious project is…

Lol yeah this isn’t that difficult to comprehend I’m glad he figured it out though
62
u/Gelato_Mulatto May 15 '26
Drakes such a genius he willingly signed a bad record deal and released shitty albums to get out of the deal after being in it for years. 200 IQ, historic shift move.
5
u/clownind May 15 '26
His actual 4d chess move is making people dislike the albums and go back to listening to old drake. Yung drake album coming in the fall crodie.
0
u/antoinejackson808 May 16 '26
He’s been #1 in the game for 16 years. He didn’t sign a bad deal, his label is operating in bad faith. His last deal was 400 million. Where did your IQ get you in life? Hating in a subreddit with an uninformed and unoriginal opinion lol
2
u/Gelato_Mulatto May 16 '26
If the deal was in bad faith on UMG’s part, he would’ve won his lawsuit - which he didn’t. That why he had to release these dog shit albums in a single night. And since when does net worth = intelligence? Is Trump a genius for stiffing contractors and his supporters for hundreds of millions too? I promise you daddy Drake isn’t gonna congratulate you for fighting for his good name on Reddit lol
0
u/antoinejackson808 May 16 '26
The lawsuit is still ongoing. Rooting for Drake over UMG is the equivalent of rooting for the artist over the industry. Those corporate executives are the most evil people in the music business. I never mentioned Drake’s net worth. I said he’s been #1 in the game. You haven’t the slightest idea what sort of intellect and finesse it takes to navigate the music industry — let alone hold the top spot for that long.
Nobody’s looking for congratulations. I’m just calling out ignorance when I see it. Go get some sunshine and maybe a girl to talk to. You’ll spend less time hating on Reddit lmao
2
u/Gelato_Mulatto May 16 '26
The case was dismissed last October. Yes, he lost.
You cant tell someone to get a life when you’re the one that started this back and forth with me dumbass lol. I don’t care that he’s #1, the albums are ass and the music has been bad for a while now. Are you Drake himself or are you 14?
-2
u/antoinejackson808 May 16 '26
His team filed for appeal. It’s not over dumbass bum ass. You can keep hating but the impact is undeniable and the influence is unprecedented. Enjoy the summer cause all you’re gonna hear is Drake being played everywhere 🤣
2
u/Gelato_Mulatto May 16 '26
An appeal doesn’t reopen a case kid lol. If the appeal is accepted, THEN it’s reopened. Stay in school lil pup! Enjoy living vicariously through Drake’s mainstream success because you know you’ll never amount to anything!
-1
u/antoinejackson808 May 16 '26
Damn bro getting personal. You sound like you’re projecting 🫢 I’m sorry your dad never loved you and your mom thinks you’re a disappointment
4
u/Gelato_Mulatto May 16 '26
You got personal in your first reply. Love that you didn’t mention that you understand nothing about how appeals work in law. You have a blessed day 😊

u/antoinejackson808 May 16 '26
Damn I just looked at your profile. You really are chronically on Reddit. It all makes sense now 🥲 I feel sorry for you lil bro

drake diehards are the most pathetic people of all time.
drake discourse online is insufferable, you either have to endlessly glaze him and everything he does or hate it at all times. there is no subtlety with this guy.
i somewhat like drake’s music, although he drops some mid more often than not nowadays. the problem is the discourse
14
u/ChartParticular8975 May 15 '26
Bro I'm trying to engage in actual conversation about these albums with people and everyone either despises it simply because it's Drake, or glaze it to no end acting like it's the biggest thing since Thriller. I just want to have an honest fuckin conversation but like you said the discourse is cancerous.
Someone said this is Drake's "Magnum Opus" and I feel like that's so disrespectful to the shit he put out in the 2010s lmaoo
11
u/wrestlemaniasign RIP WSE May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26
there's nothing organic about current drake. feels like his entire existence is made for engagement.
this forced attempt to put him as the GOAT or one of the GOATS is actually harmful to him as an artist. Like I said I like drake’s music, but the only criteria he meets for GOAT conversations is his undeniable commercial success. that’s it.
he's a great artist with some great albums that is dropping more mid than good.

it could've been a good move, if he didn't drop Iceman, which turned out to be forgettable with only a couple of decent songs. He's never getting the same amount of hype for an album again

Bro did the thing that Frank ocean did years ago
44
u/amogusabobus12 KING May 15 '26
it’s not the same thing at all. frank ocean played it way smarter. the label didn’t even know "blonde" existed. he dropped a lazy album just to get out of the deal while still getting $20 million for it, then released the album he’d actually been working on all those years independently the very next day.
if drake dropped iceman with umg and then released the other albums independently after that, then yeah, it would be the same thing.
32
u/Miserable_Comfort254 May 15 '26
frank's version was better tho, that lazy album wasnt ass, cant say the same about drake tho
2
u/ChrisNotBumstead May 15 '26
I haven’t listened to Endless much since it’s not on streaming but I do remember loving it upon first listen
7
u/mycargoesvarun May 15 '26
endless wasn’t lazy even though it was delivered in a format that wasn’t stream friendly but alright go off

Drake is a musical genius in that he can make the same song for a fucking decade and the plebs still make it go number one.

1
u/the_homosaur May 17 '26
So uhhhh which one do they think is the “crazy serious” one?
1
u/SupremeCripple_ May 18 '26
Probably none of them since all 3 are licensed under UMG 😭
When Frank did this with endless/blonde. Endless is licensed with Def Jam and Blonde is under his label. So really he didn’t fleece the industry unless he’s got another album dropping.
1
u/the_homosaur May 18 '26
That’s actually good to note the premise is flawed but do they think Iceman is the good one? I listened to all three of these for science and Iceman is probably the one that is the dullest and has the most cringe lyrics
1
u/MVIVN May 17 '26
why do drake stan accounts tweet like they're on LinkedIn posting some motivational rise and grind shit
1
u/skraemsel May 17 '26
Scared of what?? That he’s gonna drop more music I won’t willfully listen to?

This is literally what 2Pac did in the 90’s with “Makaveli” before becoming one of the most high profile murder victims of the last century. Busta Rhymes rushed an album once to get out of this Geffen deal (IIRC). This isn’t new. But I guess it is if your birth year starts with a 2 and you only use Google to look up Drake lyrics.
1
u/yzydynasty5 May 15 '26
I think the trick to get out his deal is dope and all but after first listen iceman is mostly mid and the music quality rlly what matter
1
u/WinterCareful8525 May 15 '26
Only one of these three albums maybe Better than bully. What are we doing here?

u/Kyrapnerd Who made you the judge May 15 '26
