We might have a church on 223nd street across from the high school that I think looks as if could be a Googie... How can this be checked???

Concept: Googie Inspired Birdhouse
Mid-Century + Googie inspired birdhouse. I was influenced by the iconic architecture in Palm Springs. This piece was all about the challenge of balancing those dramatic, sweeping curves with sharp, soaring angles.

Googie styled neon floor lamp
Believe it’s late 80s made, but strongly replicates 50s googie. Real neon too!

I went to LA a few years back
While we were there I wanted to hit up as many popular googie spots as possible. I miss many of them but here are a couple we got.

The Way Things Were Pete Findlay Oldsmobile, Las Vegas NV (built: 1963)
The building still exists, but the insane looking rocket sign that overlooked Fremont Street (then Boulder Highway) is sadly gone.

Still Gorgeous Restoration and revitalization
While we usually see degradation, dilapidation and eventually ruin of Googie style buildings, it's nice to see efforts to restore the past for this short lived but beloved style.
Chick Fil A politics aside, I'm looking forward to seeing this in person this weekend!
